Labs• Submit on-time for full credit• -20% per day late (-10% per day for

extended time w/ progress shown)

• Grades are earned not given– total points method (pts earned/possible pts)

Grades

Placement for Sophomore Year

• Based on 300 Algebra 1 grade–To qualify for chemistry

•B- or better in 300 Algebra 1

–To qualify for earth science•No prerequisite

• However, bio grade is a prerequisite for many future electives!

Academic Integrity• Honesty is expected in my classroom

• Cheating, copying, plagiarizing will not be tolerated & are serious offenses.–Occasional group lab reports or projects

will be assigned, otherwise all work should be done independently.

• When in doubt, ask!

• Extra Help: available by appointment– Encourage your child to ask for help a. s. a. p.– Tutoring should be a final step.

• The tutor should contact me.– So we can be “on the same page”.– So he/she knows how I have approached the content.
