Math• Math block – 1 hour and 15 minutes daily• Quarter 1 Topics
– Understand place value to round numbers to the nearest 10 or 100.
– Delve deep into the operations for addition and subtraction
– Add and subtract fluently– Build a repertoire of strategies for learning multiplication
and division facts
• Based on student understanding, classes may be regrouped for appropriate instruction (enrichment or reteach) for short periods of time

• Snacks are not to be shared between students for health reasons.
Birthdays• Please let the teacher know by email in advance if you
would like to bring in a special treat for your child’s birthday
• Please leave the treats in the office in the morning of their birthday.
• MCPS guidelines state that snacks need to be store-bought, not homemade.
• School policy states that private party invitations should not be distributed at school
