Meet the teachers!• I am married and I have one son. We love to travel,

especially back to Minnesota to see our families.

• This is my 10th year teaching and my 7th year teaching kindergarten.

Students can earn up to 7 points a day.

Explorer Portfolios• Portfolios will go home 7 different times.

• Please keep all items in your child’s portfolio.

• Please return your child’s portfolio by the due date.

• You can always come and check out your child’s portfolio.

• Explorer portfolios go home tonight .

Homework

Homework in kindergarten is reading for 10 minutes.

Assessments and Grading

• MAP- Measure of Academic Progress• Test in the fall, winter, and spring• https://www.nwea.org/assessments/map/

• DRA- Developmental Reading Assessment• Test in the fall, winter, and spring

• Quarterly Reports• 4 (exceeding), 3 (meeting), 2 (progressing) , 1 (developing)• Find in portfolios under reports.

Expedition Expectations

• The students are expected to follow the core values on all expeditions.

• Parent chaperones are needed on some expeditions. – Siblings aren’t allowed (sorry). – Please show up on time and be ready to

help.– Don’t forget to do the power point sent out

by Ms. Bayonne.
