Dear Church Family,

Our United Methodist Women (UMW) sure know how to plan a weekend. Day 1, we learned how to turn automatic yeses into healthy nos. Day 2, we are blessed with the ever-powerful preaching of Evangelist Joyce Rodgers at all four Worship Celebrations. Praise the Lord and consider yourself a winner!

We are constantly working to provide resources within our church and community to keep you and yours in the winners’ circle:

• Voter Registration Drive at The Power Center Food Truck Park, Saturdays 8/22 & 8/29, from 2 PM-8 PM and Sundays 8/23 & 8/30, from 1 PM-6 PM. UMW will be on site to assist.

• Boys’ Rites of Passage mentorship program provides spiritual, emotional, social and cultural development for boys ages 14 to 17; one-time $25 fee for new mentees. Info: lashley@wvumc.com

• Grief Share Support Group, Tuesdays, 9/8-12/8, 10:15 AM-12:15 PM and Thursdays, 9/10-12/10, 7:15 PM-9:15 PM. Don’t go through the grieving process alone.

Thank You, Holy Spirit, for helping me to release all control to You so that God’s Perfect Will for my life today is done. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

A PRAYER FOR OUR WOMENOur Father, we thank You for the women of our Church Family. Thank You for Your lovingkindness towards them. Thank You for this weekend in celebration with all our United Methodist Women. Lord, the majesty of Your Name fills the earth.

Wonderful Father, Your Word instructs that faith without works is dead, so we confess that our women will walk worthy of their calling and demonstrate their faith daily.

Holy Spirit, we ask You to fill each woman with the knowledge of God’s Word in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Please order their days so that their daily activities are fruitful.

Forgiving Father, forgive our women for all acts of sinfulness. Holy Spirit, remind our women of those they need to forgive and help them to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help our women not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Now to You, the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
