Welcome to 6th grade! I am so excited to be your Reading and

Language Arts teacher. This is my second year at Somerset Silver Palms. I love reading books,

watching tv, movies, Netflix, and traveling. I have been lucky

enough to travel to many places, including Italy, France, Spain and

even Alaska!☺Ms. Fernandez

INDEPENDENCEParents, I really need your support in helping our class become

independent and responsible. No matter their abilities, students are expected to:

● be up to date with assignments ● know their schedules ● be prepared for class daily ● write down due dates and deadlines ● write notes ● send emails when concerned about something in class ● check their grades regularly

ATTENDANCEAn ABSENCE NOTIFICATION FORM (ANF) must be completed whenever a

student is absent in order to excused his/her absence.

ANF must be turned in within 72 hours of absence.

- ANF can be found on the Somerset website, under the “Parent” tab and can be submitted digitally.

TARDIES- Students who are NOT in class within the first 5 minutes will be locked out

of the Zoom meeting and marked absent.

• Monday through Thursday students must wear a Somerset Silver Palms Polo Shirt and an appropriate bottom.

• Friday students are allowed to wear a Spirit Shirt.

This year, we will be using Google Classroom to turn in assignments for all classwork. The website is very user friendly and we will go over the details of how it works during our first weeks of school. Google Classroom is

available through Colegia and I will provide you with a classroom number in order to sign in to our class.
