You will start your journey with warm robes and a glass of refreshing ginseng tea. Your therapist will then escort you to the therapy room where you will enjoy the following experience: –

You will begin your journey in the traditional Balinese way with a relaxing coconut foot ritual.Feet submerged in warm coconut milk floating with fresh petals and gently massaged by our therapists.After your foot ritual you are led to the bed where you will receive a full back scrub, using specialist ingredients imported from the Maldives which deeply cleanse and relax without harmful abrasion. This is then carefully removed using warm mitts to remove every last trace of the scrub.

Then onto the full body massage, a full body Lomi Lomi massage.

Lomi Lomi is a deep, therapeutic massage, using these aromatic Maldivian oils and is designed to release muscle tension and consequently physical stress it’s also thought to be very spiritual.

Once calm and relaxed, your therapist will then knead and roll your entire body, using long, flowing strokes of different intensities. Never removing her hands from your body. The Health and Serenity Spa uses a trusted brand of wax with extracts of aloe-vera and manuka oil (a relative of the tea tree plant) which hasantiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.We use soft wax which is heated to only a few degrees higher than body temperature and does not burn. Soft wax is applied in one thin layer and remains soft on the skin, this is removed immediately with a soft paper strip and is a very quick process.

ElectrolysisElectrolysis is a method of removing individual hairs from the face or body. The Health and Serenity Spa use the most up to date medical electrolysis device that destroy the growth center of the hair with heat energy. After avery fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle, the hair is removed with tweezers. Most areas of the body can be treated with electrolysis, including the eyebrows, face, abdomen, thighs, breasts, and legs. There are generallyno permanent side effects, but sometimes a temporary, slight reddeningof the skin may occur.

The Health and Serenity Spa is an experienced clinic in Permanent hair reduction. UsingEnergist Ultra Plus VPL machines.A simple Consultation and patch test will confirm whether VPL treatment is for you, As the patch test is actually testing the machine on a small area, you should see results after approx2 weeks.

A course of treatment is recommended. Hair grows at different rates and VPL treats the hair when it is in the growth cycle. Hence it is best to have a course of treatment with each session about 5-6 weeks apart. This is the best chance at capturing hairs in their growth cycles.VPL is capable of treating most skin types, however those with dark skin would be unlikely to receive the results they desire with VPL. Health and Serenity can recommend clinics that have

YAG laser machines which can cater for the darker skin.

Because traditionally Permanent Hair Reduction can be a costly treatment, Health and Serenity undertake Permanent Hair Reduction Under our 123 Plan. Our Afternoon tea, can make that special visit to the Spa, just that little bit extra special. Choose from a sweet or savoury menu. Afternoon Tea is included with all of our packages on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, but you can of course add on this treat as an addition to your treatments on these days for an additional cost of £15.00 per head. Please specify at time of booking whether you would like the Sweet or Savoury menu. Please note, we are unable to cater for food intolerances, and do not offer a special menu for Pregnant ladies. Therefore please ensure that you are happy with the menu provided before booking. An alternative to taking afternoon tea would be a visit to our hairdressing salon where your afternoon tea option can be substituted for a Wash and Blow Dry.
