Hi, I’m Kara, I’m an independent graphic designer and have been designing for over 11 years. I come from a background producing workplace learning resources specialising in print and eLearning. That part of my journey taught me a lot and I gained many valuable skills, but these days I have shifted my talents where I find myself creating beautiful logos, labels, illustrating and immersing myself in photography, this is where my jam is at!

The Process

Gain Clarity Design MarketingMore than 60% of small businesses stop their operation within the first three years of their startup journey. I believe this is contributed to business not establishing a solid brand foundation before getting started. At Kara Peak Design, I help you gain clarity on your audience and what message you want to bring to the world.

I do this through a 30 minute ‘clarity call’ after you have filled in the creative brief. Here we go through your brief together so I can better understand your unique business and gain clarity on your direction or vision. This ensures we are on the right path to making sense to your audience and setting you apart from your competition.

Following our clarity call, I design 3 logo concepts for you to choose from, tag line if needed, a mood board, colour palette and font choices that suit your brand.

Next I fine-tune the chosen concept until you’re 100% happy with the overall look and feel of your brand.

Then I package up your logo’s and give you a reliable style guide so that you can create on-brand material and maintain consistency going forward.

Now that your visual brand identity is established, we move on to your marketing material. You get 2x marketing material designs included in the ‘Business Brand Package’ (this could be a business card and a flyer design for example).

Now you are ready to expose your brand to the world!

Logo Design Package

What you get

• 3 logo concepts• 3 rounds of reviews• Primary logo and variation (generally vertically and horizontally stacked)• Sub-mark design (a smaller icon that pairs with your logo, this could be used

as your FB/IG profile image) • Chosen logo concept in colour, B&W, reversed out• Exported in EPS, PDF, PNG, JPG

Visual Branding Package

What you get

• Everything in the logo design package PLUS • 30 minute call - (First you will fill in a creative brief that I will send you once you

have gotten in touch with me. Then you and I get on a call and go over your answers so I’m 100% clear on your brand vision and how you want to be perceived in the marketplace. I believe this in depth briefing process is the key to a successful outcome!)

• Your brands colour palette (Web and Print)• Mini style guide (This includes your logo’s, sub logo or any icons, colours,

fonts, mood board all in the one document so you can see how they all marry together)

Total = $697

Business Branding Package

What you get

• Everything in the logo design package and the visual design package PLUS

• 2 stationary or marketing items (This could be business card design, flyer design or social media marketing such as social squares or banner design for your Facebook.)

Total = $897

Note: this package DOES NOT include any printing, it is ONLY for the design and print ready files. I am more than happy to organise the printing for you at an additional cost.

Complete Branding Package

What you get

• Everything in the logo design package +• Custom pattern/elements unique to your brand (use these on your website, marketing material, socials etc.)

• Personal Branding photo shoot (includes 1 hr for the shoot and a minimum of 20 high res digital images)

• 2 stationary or marketing items (This could be business card design, flyer design or social media marketing)

• Your Businesses Style Guide (This will provide all of the necessary details for consistent branding in one central document)

• Social Media Package - Which includes: (Profile image, Facebook banner (cover photo,social squares x 12 (for Instagram and Facebook), Instagram highlight covers x 12 items)

• Profile image (High res image of your logo will need to be supplied by you unless this package is an add on from one of the above packages.)

Note: this package is an ADD ON to one of the above packages. You will need to supply a high res image of your logo if you are not purchasing one of the logo package options.

Grand Social Media Package

Portfolio Headshot Session

Mini Personal Branding Session

What you get

• 1 hr photo shoot plus bump-in/out time• 20 min phone call consult (we build your photo shoots shortlist together)• 20 high res quality digital images - delivered within 2 weeks

Mega Branding Session

What you get

• 2 hr photo shoot plus bump-in/out time• 20 min phone call consult (we build your photo shoots shortlist together)• Minimum of 40 high res quality digital images - delivered within 3 weeks

Grand Branding Session

1. Get in touch, either through email or social media and let me know which package you would like to choose

2. Next I will then send you an email with confirmation of your chosen package along with a creative brief for you to fill in regarding relevant information about your business/logo etc.

3. Once your have filled in and returned the creative brief to me, paid your first installment (50% of the total amount) your design will then get added to the design queue.

4. We will then have your 30 minute ‘Clarity Call’ together (if you have chosen the Visual Branding Package, or the Business Branding Package) then I’ll get started designing your beautiful logo etc.

Terms and ConditionsCommencement of workPlease read the below standard terms and conditions and their implications before agreeing commencement of working with Kara Peak Design. Agreement to work with, submission of a design brief and payment of deposit constitutes agreement to these terms and conditions. By accessing this document you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please note that these terms and conditions may be altered without notice. Please contact me if you do not understand anything in this document.

Communication & TurnaroundAll communication is to be in clear, concise writing via email or social media so that all parties are able to look back on instructions. To speak over the phone, bookings need to be made via https://calendly.com/karapeakdesign/30-min-call where the client will call Kara at the booked in time. If the call is missed, the client will need to book a new time in. Requests must be clear and concise and in writing. The client and designer agree upon a reasonable time frame to complete the project. If changes outside the scope are needed, they will be charged at $75 per hour and will delay the deadline date. Please ensure there is plenty of time allowed to develop and deliver the artwork. Failure to communicate in a timely manner (14 days) may cause the job to be put on hold until the next availability. Branding packages should not exceed their allotted timeframes. If the job is on hold over 14 days, a $150 fee is applied every month after that. Kara Peak Design will endeavour to meet deadlines provided the client has submitted all necessary and final materials. Kara Peak Design will not be held liable for any loss due to late artwork delivery. Urgent jobs will have incur an extra fee of $120 to make up for time lost on scheduled jobs.

Rights and ownership Kara Peak Design retains full ownership of design concepts and materials produced. Upon full payment of the agreed fee, the client shall be entitled to full ownership rights of final artwork. Unused concepts remain the property of Kara Peak Design. Kara Peak Design reserve the right to display design credit on works produced. Removal of this credit is a breach of these Terms and Conditions. Kara Peak Design reserve the right to use all works and concepts produced for promotional use, unless otherwise agreed upon. Kara Peak Design reserve the right to use certain elements of the design in other projects such as elements that are not exclusive to the design such as fonts, stock images or parts of illustrations. No information or works of Kara Peak Design shall be reproduced, adapted or transmitted in any form.

Payment Terms and ConditionsQuotes do not include printing. Printing is available on request. The client agrees to pay a 50% non refundable deposit of the quoted amount. The project can be scheduled once the down-payment is received by the designer. The remaining 50% is payable to the designer upon completion of the project and before the original artwork is supplied to the client. Client agrees to pay for any applicable excess work or additions on top of the initial quote cost which is payable prior to delivery of design files. Wherever possible the client will be notified of increases in the scope of the project outside the quote amount, but be aware that this may not always be possible and therefore will appear on your final bill. This includes any on-site meetings, any extra work gone into the job, or purchased stock imagery that is outside the scope of the original quoted project, or where additional revisions are made, where Kara Peak Design will charge $75 per hour. For smaller jobs a minimum fee of $15 applies.

Client cancellationIf Kara Peak Design has not heard from the client for 21 consecutive days, or if the client is to change their mind after agreeing to work with Kara Peak Design, the project will not continue and will be considered cancelled. The deposit is non refundable. If after the project has commenced and the project is cancelled, a $75 cancellation fee will incur and all ownership and copyrights shall be retained by the designer.

Approval of artworkIt is the sole responsibility of the client to proof read and approve all final copy before the production of artwork. Please take your time approving all artwork and ensure all spelling, grammar, phone numbers, addresses and other important information is checked before approving. The client is to advise of any errors before the final files have been generated. Kara Peak Design will not be held responsible for any changes or amendment made after approval of the design. There will be no reprints at the expense of Kara Peak Design.

Print colour variationsThere may be some colour variations from what you see on screen as opposed to the final printed product. This is due to the nature of CMYK printing and choice of stock. It is always good to check a printed proof before commencement of bulk printing.

Produced workKara Peak Design reserves rights to use copies and samples of work produced by Kara Peak Design for promotional and publication use such as social media and website use, unless otherwise agreed upon. Kara Peak Design reserves the right to photograph produced works.

ConfidentialityThe client shall inform the designer in writing if any material or information provided by the client is confidential.

Liability and litigationThe client agrees to indemnity and hold harmless the designer in writing from any and all claims, demands, losses, causes of action, damage, lawsuits, judgments, including attorneys’ fees and costs, but only to the extent caused by, arising out of, the work supplied by the designer.
