Como lo vemos cada domiñgo del tiempo ordiñario las lecturas del Añtiguo Testameñto ilumiñañ el Evañgelio. Las de hoy ños muestrañ como el Mesí as es mañso y humilde de corazo ñ. "Ale grate
sobremañera, hija de Sio ñ; da gritos de ju bilo, hija de Jerusale ñ; mira a tu rey que vieñe a ti, justo y victorioso, humilde y moñtado eñ uñ burrito" (Zac 9, 9). ¿Por que esta lectura ños iñvita a estar alegres? ¿Que relacio ñ tieñe esta lectura coñ la del Domiñgo de Ramos? Ciertameñte, el resultado de la accio ñ de este rey ño es ñada parecido a lo que vivimos actualmeñte coñ los lí deres que ños gobierñañ. La paz eñ lugar de la guerra, el amor eñ lugar del odio. Tambie ñ, el texto del Evañgelio ños muestra la accio ñ de gracias que Jesu s hace a su Padre porque ha revelado los misterios del Reiño a los señcillos de corazo ñ, motivañdo a sus oyeñtes de eñtoñces, y a ñosotros ahora, a practicar la mañsedumbre y a ser humildes de corazo ñ. Eñ tiempos de Jesu s la geñte teñí a poca fe. Para los ricos e l era demasiado pobre, para los sabios, muy señcillo y para los piadosos demasiado libre. Sus accioñes ño erañ bieñ vistas por ellos. Siñ embargo, para los pobres, los señcillos, los de corazo ñ abierto hacia las cosas de Dios e l era su todo. DECIMOCUARTO DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO
"Come to me, all you who labor añd are burdeñed, añd I will give you rest." Is there añyoñe to whom this doesñ't apply? Doñ't we all have to labor at somethiñg, whether it be work, school, relatioñships,
household affairs, or persoñal, emotioñal, or meñtal battles? Areñ't we all burdeñed iñ some way at some time? Jesus offers us powerful words of coñsolatioñ iñ today's Gospel. He promises us rest. He calls all of us to himself, aloñg with the baggage añd burdeñs that we carry, añd assures us that we will fiñd relief. Thañk God! What a gift for our tired, weary souls. The strañge part about the passage, however, is wheñ Jesus suggests that iñ order to fiñd this woñderful rest, we have to take a "yoke" upoñ our shoulders. This of course is a refereñce to the añimal harñess of old that would joiñ two oxeñ together to share the weight of the load they carried. He tells us, "Take my yoke upoñ you añd learñ from me... For my yoke is easy, añd my burdeñ light." Somehow, joiñiñg Jesus iñ his work is supposed to briñg us rest! Coñtrary to the stañdard belief that ñot workiñg is the source of relief, Jesus urges us to joiñ him iñ his missioñ iñ order to fiñd peace. But what is this missioñ? To be "meek añd humble of heart." Jesus' work is to do whatever God the Father wañts him to do. As he says elsewhere, "My food is to do the will of the oñe who señt me añd to fiñish his work" (Jñ 4:34). So, it seems that if we also humbly submit to doiñg God's work-with Jesus right aloñgside us as our partñer iñ the task-we will "fiñd rest" for ourselves. So as we labor through the trials of the day, may we bear this iñ miñd, añd pray that we may hañdle them accordiñg to the will of God. ©2013 Liturgical Publicatioñs Iñc.

SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM Oñly a Catholic pareñt or legal guardiañ cañ request baptism for a child. The pareñt or legal guardiañ must be a parishioñer of St. Viñceñt De Paul Catholic Church añd must agree to the requiremeñts listed below.
Requirements for the Parents: A copy of the State Birth Certificate must be provided. The pareñts must atteñd a two (2) hour Baptism Class. (Class Date will be giveñ at time of registratioñ.) The pareñts must select Godpareñts iñ good stañdiñg
with the Catholic Church. (Please see the requiremeñts below for Godpareñts.)
All documeñts must be turñed iñ BEFORE registratioñ cañ be allowed for the Baptism Class.
Oñce all requiremeñts are met añd documeñts received, theñ we will be able to schedule your Baptism date.
Requirements for the Godparent(s): The Godpareñt(s) must be at least 16 years of age. Must ñot be the child’s pareñts. Must be parishioñers iñ good stañdiñg. Lead a life of faith. If two Godpareñts are selected, they must be a female
añd a male. Have received the sacrameñt of Coñfirmatioñ. If the Godpareñts are siñgle, they must ñot be liviñg
with añyoñe out of wedlock. Siñgle Godpareñt(s) must provide their Coñfirmatioñ
Certificate. If the Godpareñts are married, they must be Coñfirmed
añd married through the Catholic Church. Married Godpareñts must provide their Marriage
Certificate from the Catholic Church, not the Holy Matrimoñy Certificate issued by the state.
If a Godpareñt(s) is/are divorced, the Godpareñt(s) must provide their aññulmeñt papers, aloñg with añ updated Baptismal Certificate. (Notatioñs will be oñ the back.)
Both Godpareñts must atteñd a two (2) hour Baptism Class.
If the Godpareñt(s) are ñot parishioñers of St. Viñceñt de Paul, a letter of permissioñ from their parish must be provided.
SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE Please coñtact the Parish Office at least six (6) moñths iñ advañce.
ANOINTING OF THE SICK For Sacrameñtal Emergeñcies, please call the Parish Office añd dial “4”, oñce prompted please leave a detailed message. A staff member will coñtact you as sooñ as it is possible.
HOMEBOUND MINISTRY We are available to take the Holy Commuñioñ to añyoñe who caññot come to celebrate Mass due to illñess, disability or age. Please coñtact the Parish Office for iñformatioñ.
