Dear ICPC Delegate,

Welcome to the 5th edition of the International Conference on Polyolefin Characterization, this year held in Valencia. Being closer to the European, ME and African audiences, this venue becomes once again the most international one among the three ICPC venues (Houston, Valencia, Shanghai) bringing together polyolefin research scientists from over 24 countries around the world.

ICPC 2014 starts on September 21 with a very intensive Short Course on Polyolefin Characterization Techniques, given by an elite groupof reference researchers with an extensive background and expertise in the field. This course is the ideal complement to the conference,as it provides a general context about basic and advanced topics needed daily in the polyolefin characterization works. During the evening, a round table on GPC Columns for polyolefins will be held with the presence of some of the leading manufacturers, who willbe providing answers to the most typical issues usually faced when working at high temperature with GPC columns. This will be followed by the traditional Welcome Cocktail, where all the delegates can start exchanging experiences in the charming gardens of the Westin Valencia Hotel.

The ICPC Conference Technical Program will be covered from September 22 to 24, through 32 Oral Presentations including topics like Separation - Fractionation, Morphology, Rheology, Spectroscopy and Mathematical Modeling and through 53 Posters, presented on Monday 22 in the Poster Session, which will be complemented this year with brief introductions by each presenter before opening officially the Posters Area for visiting. To break the routine from the always tight technical program, on Tuesday evening we will leave the hotel to have a pleasant walk through the old riverbed to the amazing area of the City of the Arts and Sciences, where the Cocktail will be held, concretely in the Sciences Museum terrace (Buses will be arranged as well for those who prefer transportation). We encourage you to participate taking advantage of the nice weather and views offered by Valencia.

On behalf of the ICPC Technical Committee and Organization, we want to thank most sincerely Speakers, Poster Authors, Attendees, Sponsors and Vendors for your support and active participation.

We hope you enjoy your stay in Valencia and your attendance to the conference, and wish you go back home with a wider view of the polyolefin characterization research and up-to-date about the latest innovations in this field.

Sincerely yours,

Raquel ÚbedaICPC Conference Coordinator

On behalf of the 5th ICPC Technical Program Chairs:
