INSIDE THIS ISSUE
WELCOME HOME TO THE BRANCHES
The Branches has graduated from a
house to a home! THANK YOU for
your prayers and generous gifts of hard
work, time, and resources. You are
amazing!! God bless you!
On February 2, three adults
with developmental disabilities
started a new chapter in their
lives when they moved to The
Branches. (Read more on p. 2)

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you
will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 NIV

Surrounded by Support and Encouragement
We have room for 5 more clients at The Branches -- 3 women and 2 men. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older, ambulatory, have mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, and can care for their personal needs with mini-mal assistance. For more information, please phone 417-887-7653 or email [email protected].
Our first three clients are settled at The Branches and blossoming in their new home. Larry keeps everyone informed on the news and weather and has revived his interest in finding new books at the library to read. Marietta makes greeting cards. She gives them to visitors, making sure she sends enough for their family members and anyone who might be in the hospital, too. Her new passion is sewing quilt blocks with help from volunteer, Edna Deaton. Joe enjoys music and exercise. He combines the two by listening to his favorite Elvis tunes and singing along while working out every afternoon.
They each go to work, attend church on Sundays, clean their rooms and do their laundry, and go to Greene County Park Board Activities such as bowling and TEAM. A volunteer from the neighborhood, Sandy, provides fun weekly activities. New friendships are being made. Their lives are full, productive and happy. It was for these things we prayed and hoped.
This wonderful home would not exist and operate without God’s help and your kind and generous support. You’ve helped build The Branches from the ground up, literally. You’ve supplied many necessities -- furniture, pantry goods and household items. We couldn’t be more grateful. As with any ministry that operates a residence, start up and ongoing costs are huge. We ask for your continued support to keep The Branches thriving for our current and future clients.
Ways you can help:
Please continue to pray for this ministry.
We love volunteers! Please ask us how you can serve.
Attend our largest fundraising event of the year, Frame by Frame. Enjoy a delicious dinner and music and have a fun time bidding on some great auction items!
Purchase one or more tickets at $20 each to win a Big Green Egg (large size) with nest and accessories. Drawing will be held at Frame by Frame on May 4. Please contact us for tickets or purchase tickets at Frame by Frame.
Provide scholarship assistance so that The Branches will be available to more families, or help sustain The Branches by including Southwest Special Care Homes in your estate planning.

ONLY THE HOUSE and the BARN/WORKSHOP ARE LEFT TO NAME!!
The Room by Room Campaign was introduced at Frame by Frame 2011. Since then, all but the house and barn have been named. Below is the list of donors and the names they chose. Every name is unique and adds personality to The Branches. Beautiful, original oil paintings hang beside each room or component of the house that was named. A very big THANK YOU to the donors who contributed a combined total of $76,500. Thank you, also, to artist Ken Boatright, for do-nating his time and talent. All framing supplies were donated.
