Save the Last Word for ME• Each team member reads one page from the
menu of strategies• The first person chooses one of the strategies,
and reads it aloud without commenting– Each member has 1 minute to respond with
their thoughts, questions, or examples– The reader has 2 minutes to share why he
or she chose the strategy and to build on what the other members said
Chalk Talk
• Everyone has one marker• Write on the chart at the table about the given
topic, quote, math problem, etc.• When the music stops, take the same marker
to the next table• Read the chart and add additional strategies
or comment on what is written already• You will end up back where you started

this strategy in your classroom
