WELCOME HOME CELEBRATION

Sunday, September 15

10:30am – 2:00pm

Summer vacations have come to an end, school has started back, and we are finally starting to settle into our daily routines. Oak Ridge UMC's Welcome Home Celebration is the perfect opportunity to jump back into your church life! We will have ONE combined worship service in the Family Life Center at 10:30am on Sunday, September 15, immediately followed by a time of Fellowship, Food, and Fun.....you won't want to miss this special opportunity to reconnect with your ORUMC church family!!! (Please note that on this particular Sunday there will be no Discipleship Hour/Sunday School classes, and there will be no morning Fellowship Time coffee and snacks.)

Come for the Food!

We are asking the congregation to provide the food for this potluck meal. Items may be homemade, store-bought, or straight from your favorite restaurant....it will ALL get eaten! In an effort to make sure our food items are somewhat evenly split between meats/entrees, sides, salads, and desserts, please sign up for which type of item you'd like to bring. There is a sign-up genius link on the church website OR you can contact Kim Jackson at 704-576-8429 or [email protected].

Come for the Fun & Fellowship!

We will have bounce houses, corn hole, ping pong, basketball, four square, etc. outside for everyone to enjoy. Feel free to bring your own outdoor games, chairs, blankets, etc. to add to all the fun! Enjoy catching up with your church family while watching the kids run around having a blast. Take the opportunity to introduce yourself to unfamiliar faces (we've had a lot of new members join this past year!). This day is for YOU.....relax and have fun.....WELCOME HOME!!

Come to Help!

We all know these events don't happen by themselves.....it takes a lot of work to make it a success. If you are interested in helping with this event, please contact Kim Jackson at 704-576-8429 or [email protected]. We will gladly accept your help in ANY way that you would like to offer (kitchen duty, food setup, table/chair setup, table decorations, manning the drink table, etc.). Please don't assume that we have all the help we need.....there is never enough!!
