Monaghan Peace IV Partnership Board

Monaghan Local Community Development Committee are seeking to appoint 2 new board members to sit on its Peace IV Partnership Board.

Board members will be expected to attend four board meetings per year, and also participate in any Peace and Reconciliation training and development sessions designed for board members.

The role is an unpaid voluntary position, but reasonable travel expenses will be paid.

We are seeking to appoint 2 individuals who will;

Represent the Minority Faith sector in County Monaghan.

Have an understanding of Peace and Reconciliation issues.

Would be willing to support Peace and Reconciliation activities across the County.

Are able to operate as part of a team.

If you are interested in this, please apply in writing to Nicola Payne, Peace Programme Manager, Mona-ghan County Council, The Glen, Monaghan, no later than 17th June 2016. Please detail the organisation/sector that you represent and why you are interested in the role.

Potential board members will be invited to speak to our secretariat on 24th June 2016.

River Trust Talk

You are invited to attend a talk by Mark Horton, All-Ireland Development Officer for Rivers Trust at the Castleblayney Enterprise Centre, Dublin Road on Friday June 3rd at 7pm.

This talk should be of interest to a number of active angling and community groups along the River Fane -

a river catchment that covers an area from Mullyash, Annyalla, Oram, Castleblayney, Crossmaglen, Culla-

ville, Broomfield, Inniskeen, Knockbridge and on to the sea south of Dundalk. Lough Muckno is the largest

lake on this system

This meeting is supported by Monaghan County Council’s Environment Section and the newly formed Local Authority Waters and Communities Office (LAWCO).

The fun in Monaghan County Museum continues....... For the month of June we have organised the following events: Ceramic Painting – Saturday 4

th June 12.30pm – 1.30pm & 2pm – 3pm

Colour Crazy Ceramics will encourage participants to express their ideas in a creative and fun way as they paint their very own ceramic piece. Wet Felt Making – Saturday 11

th June 2pm – 4pm

Design, pat, roll and squish! Discover the magic of wet felting as participants turn soft fluffy wool into an amazing felted picture. The completed felted pictures are perfect size to be framed or used as a coaster. Mask Making – Saturday 18

th June 12.30pm – 2pm & 2.45pm – 4.15pm

This workshop will provide an opportunity to create a personal Venetian carnival mask using a variety of mixed media and learn about the history of these beautiful masks. Creative Beading – Jewellery Making Class – Saturday 25

th June 12.30pm – 2pm & 2.45pm – 4.15pm

Lets get creative with beads and bling. Local jewellery maker Joy Hastings will guide participants in creating their very own piece of beaded jewellery. This class will cover basic jewellery making techniques and a guide to matching colours. Each child will make something to take home and be proud of - suitable for boys and girls of any age. All these events are free of charge but booking is essential and parental supervision is required. If you would like to book your child or children into any of these events please do not hesitate in contacting me by the number below or by return email with the child name, age and contact number.
