THE 1991 WRESTLING TEAM

• State, Sectional, District, and Conference Champions

• 11 of the 13 wrestlers in the Clinton lineup were Conference champions.

• The City of Clinton recognized February 21st, 1991 as Clinton High School Championship Wrestling Day.

• The Missouri State Senate honored the wrestlers with a Proclamation and Banquet to celebrate a 10-0 season, State Championship, and Missouri 1A-2A record for most medalist in the tournament.

Coach Ray Niles

Retired. With wife, Lora, lives in Branson. Lora teaches College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Statistics at Branson High School. Son, Brett, is a senior at Branson High School. Brett has been accepted to, and plans to attend Mizzou, majoring in BioChemistry in preparation to attend medical school

Coach Steve Ward

Currently resides in Ozark, MO, with wife, Johnna, and three children: Makenzie (17), Tessa (15), and Jacob (9). Since 1996, has been a lawyer with Turner, Reid, Duncan, Loomer & Patton, P.C., in Springfield, MO.

Coach Glenn Mays

Retired. Lives in Clinton, MO and working for the Clinton Park & Rec Department.

Resides Baton Rouge, LA. Currently a Lead Production Cody is an Associate for Carmax Inc. Married, with 1 girl (13) and 1 Boy (7).

Kearney, MO. Lead Lineman for Kansas City Power and Light. Married Amy Green in 1999 and is the proud father of Caden, age 9 and Gage, age 7. The boys continue to follow in Shane's footsteps-wrestling and playing tackle football for the Kearney, Missouri youth programs

Graduated with BioChemistry degree from Missouri State University. Owner/President of a pharmaceutical research company. Lives in Warrensburg, MO where he also develops and renovates historic commercial property.

Tulsa, OK. Civil/Structural Engineer Tech for Willbros Engineers Inc. and finishing Bachlor’s degree in Civil Engineering at OSU IT. Married to Melissa Owens for 17yrs and has 2 daughters, Rheagan and Korbynn Owens, and one son, Parker Owens.

Attended Simpson College in Iowa on a wrestling and academic scholarship. Lived in Lee's Summit, MO. Married to April Young. Steve lost his battle to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma at the age of 27.

Tony Komer 152

Tony graduated from SMSU and returned to Clinton where he was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and employed by Champion Brand. Tony had two sons...Mason and Westin and wife Sara Jane. Tony’s life was cut short in 2006 when the Elks’ building collapsed. He has a memorial foundation now that supports Youth Recreation activities here in Clinton.
