STEM- (Science Technology, Engineering, and Math)

The goal of this class is to guide students to discover for themselves how their participation in coursework can lead directly to exciting and rewarding careers. Tell Parents about our new middle school science labs complete with Scott Foresman kits that will go along with every chapter.

Explain the importance of the home-school connection and empower parents to be involved in student learning. Put them at ease by explaining that all handouts will be provided with step by step instructions and suggestions. Remind them of contact info to ask and answer questions. Show parents the example chapter 1 packet.

Model how to login and navigate both science links.

Model how to Navigate the site. Show Science of the Day Questions that students will answer daily as our opening activity. Let students and parents try and guess the answer. Take an audience poll and show the answer. Click on Chapter 1 to show activities students can do to extend learning. Click on Virtual labs to give example labs students can complete on their own.

Go to Success net and demonstrate log in requirements. Use webcodes from chapter 1 to show how students and parents can access activities and online practice tests and quizzes.
