Your grade will be an evaluation of homework, classwork, quizzes and tests, and class participation. Grades will be computed strictly by points. Sapphire Grading HOMEWORK Daily homework assignments will be checked often for completeness, and periodically collected for a grade. There will be NO announcement for which days homework will be checked on. A completed homework assignment is worth 3 points for each time that I check. If you have not missed any homework checks throughout the marking period, I will add 2 PERCENTAGE POINTS to your final marking period grade. It is in your best interest to attempt every assignment, and to seek help when it is needed. MATERIALS Organization is the key to success. You must have a binder to keep notes, homework, quizzes, and tests as well as a pencil (this is MATH class). I will check that your binder is neat and up-to-date on testing days. TI-83 or TI-84 plus MAKE-UP WORK Every student is responsible for making up his or her homework from absence(s). Each student has the same number of days to make up their work as the number of days they were absent. Chapter tests and quizzes must be made up before the next chapter test. Students who fail to make up his or her work in the time allotted will obtain a zero in the grade book for that assignment. I am in my room most mornings before school (7-7:35) and can also make advanced arrangements for flex (3B) or after school. Tutoring is also made available at the drop- in center during flex period. Outside tutoring by a qualified tutor (if they are available) is also an option. Mr. Sahd (Math Dept. Supervisor) has a list of qualified tutors and their phone numbers.
