Venus Williams

Venus shares her inspirational health journey. At the tender age of 14, Venus Williams had already become a professional athlete, taking the world of tennis by storm. She spent the next decade rising to the top-ranked positions; winning numerous championships, including the U.S. Open, Wimbledon and doubles at the Australian Open and French Open in addition to three Olympic Gold medals.

Currently, Venus holds 43 WTA Tour titles, which includes seven Singles Grand Slam titles. As a result, Venus joined the ranks of only a handful of legendary women’s singles tennis champions who have won five or more Wimbledon Championships.

In true champion form, Venus has been known to break records. During the 2007 French Open she made history with a record-breaking serve of 129 mph, and she tied this record during the 2008 Wimbledon tournament, making this the fastest serve ever recorded in women’s tennis history.

Not only is she a tennis superstar, she is an author too. Her first book, ‘Come to Win: Venus and Friends on Life Lessons Beyond the Playing Field’ went to number five on the New York Times Best Sellers list. Moreover, Venus is a true believer of equal rights and became the first person to be named ‘UNESCO Promoter of Gender Equality.’

Finally, she is a certified decorator and the owner of V Starr Interiors, a successful interior design firm based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. She also runs her fashion label ‘EleVen,’ which was the largest clothing line ever launched by a female athlete.

Shane Crawford AFL Legend, TV Personality and AIA Vitality Ambassador

Shane Crawford spent his childhood obsessed with all types of sport but also loved Madonna and Michael Jackson. He played all sports but there was one sport that he dreamed about – to be an AFL Footballer. Shane attended boarding school at Assumption College in Kilmore, Victoria, and was selected by Hawthorn Football Club with the 13th pick in the 1991 AFL Draft. He made his debut in 1993. A dream come true for the small statured man with big teeth. During 305 AFL games, he achieved four All-Australian selections, won the 1999 Brownlow Medal (the same year he became the Hawks’ Captain) and represented Australia in three International Rules series captaining back-to-back victories. Shane’s 305th and final AFL game on 27 September 2008, saw him finally taste the ultimate success, with the Hawks’ 2008 triumph. In June and July 2013, he embarked on his second major journey for BCNA, cycling 3,600 km from Melbourne to Perth in an event named ‘Tour de Crawf’ that took place over 22 days where he averaged nearly 170 km per day. These two events saw Shane raise close to $2 million for Breast Cancer Network Australia. Shane has had a long association with Channel Nine both during and post his AFL career.
