•  What is the impact of the different models of team teaching trialled in the project on student outcomes?

•  What is the impact of the team teaching models on teachers and their practice?

•  What are the conditions under which team teaching is most effective? (taking into account the characteristics of the students, teachers and schools, as well as the process through which teams are formed and maintained)

•  What resources do schools most need to support effective team teaching?

•  What is the impact of a practitioner-led research approach on teacher practice?

The Team Teaching project addresses a number of overarching research questions

Deakin University will address these questions using a range of methods, including analysis of: •  teachers’ observations of each

other’s practice •  surveys and interviews with

participating teachers, principals and potentially students

•  surveys of all 80 Expression of Interest applicants

•  data collected by participating teachers in measuring the impact of their team teaching practices on student outcomes.

Schools share their research questions Where you are now?

What are your concerns?

u Team members will present their research question and provide a short overview of where they are now in relation to collaborative practices and team teaching and the issues and concerns they have and the strategies they are using to address their concerns.

u  What is going well? What are your concerns or challenges?

u  (This would include their question/questions, why they chose this question, what progress they have made, challenges or resistance they have faced, how they are mapping out the project).

u  One person from each team stays at the table, the rest move.

u  5 Rotations – stations. Take notes as you move through each station.

u  5th rotations is back with your own team to share the learnings from this activity.

u  Explain the purpose of this survey

u  Schools complete and sent to Muriel Wells by email.

u  Audio recordings of School SWOT discussions around video data to be saved to USB drives before lunch. Transcriptions will be sent to TTs and further analysis will occur involving TT and Deakin staff at each of the respective schools.

u  The SWOT will have identified the perceived strengths weakness and opportunities (you found) and potential threats to the TT practices and student learning captured visually.
