As we do our best to keep you informed on happenings at Trinity, please do your best

to keep us as updated as possible. Please call the church office to update your contact information.

Check out the COVID-19 tab on our website for the latest information!

Trinity will offer Grief Share again for those who have lost a loved one and are going

through the grieving process. Everyone is welcome. Pastor Matt will be the facilitator. The 13 week

support group begins August 18th from 7:00pm-8:30pm here at the church. The first session will deal

with the loss of a spouse. The last session will be: ‘Surviving the Holidays.’ To register, or if you have

questions, please call the church office at 219-663-1578.

Resources continue to be available on the website. Please reach out to Trinity's pastors if

you need additional support, desire communion, want to share a concern or prayer request, or just

need to know that your church cares for you. Consider joining the Prayer vigil that continues on

Wednesday evening at 7:30pm (go to Zoom.us and click "Join a Meeting." Enter the meeting ID 764

8053 0976 to run or download Zoom, and then enter the password PrayJoy.

We are currently developing a plan for a one day VBS

session on Saturday, July 25th for PreK through 4th grade. Please keep an eye out for registration

information coming soon!

Our country is in the midst of unrest due to racial inequality, among

other issues. The youth of our congregation are aware of this and they have strong feelings. We want

to see what God's Word has to say about this. Starting on Sunday, June 28th, all Sr. High youth (those

recently confirmed through recent high school graduates) are invited to participate in a six-session

Bible study over Zoom called "One Nation Under God: Healing Racial Divides in America" by

Rev. Keith Haney. Each Sunday session will begin at 12:30 pm. Zoom meeting ID and password

information will be forthcoming. Please contact Craig Gerbers ([email protected]) or Pastor

Gadbaw ([email protected]) with questions. We hope to see a lot of youth join us for this

important and timely study!

Our Guatemala mission team is formed and they still are making

preparations for the mission trip January 30th to February 6th, 2021. The team will make the

determination if it is safe to go when the date is closer, but until they look for ways that you

can support them and pray for them in the coming months!

We will continue to carry a limited number of Cash and Carry gift cards all

through summer available for purchase in the Atrium at the front desk, Monday-Friday 8:00am

till 3:00pm. Our schedule for June and July is: an order will be placed on June 29th; July 13th

and 27th. We will resume our weekly schedule on August 10th. Gift cards are ordered on

Monday morning, are available for pick up at the front desk by Wednesday at 3:00pm. We

thank you for supporting such a valuable fundraiser and helping worthy students in our Trinity

Scholarship Fund! Have a safe and blessed summer!

As we continue to come through the health crisis, we have had time to

re-engage in some of the spiritual disciplines of the Christian faith; namely, daily Bible reading,

family devotions, prayer, and mutual care and encouragement for the church family. As you

develop new routines, be sure to protect and keep these spiritual disciplines in place so that

they are not crowded out by a busy schedule. Consider adding another opportunity to serve

others. Many of these opportunities would require your assistance once a month at the service

that you attend. This opportunity that is before us can deepen our Christian devotion and

further support the work of Jesus Christ here at Trinity! Check out the volunteer

opportunities section of the newsletter and pick which one He is asking you to serve in!

The Board of Properties and Thrivent are hosting the June Work Day on

June 27th at 9:00am. As usual we have general clean up of the landscaping around the

buildings. We have ‘volunteer’ trees growing in the shrubs. We have Thistles, grass and trees

growing in the Prayer Garden. The Prayer Garden always takes several good volunteers to do

the cleanup. The Camp House property needs some heavier duty clean up. A Skid-Steer or

Bush Hog would be nice to clean up some dirt piles and brush. We also would like someone

to install gutter guards on the Camp House. The screening inside of the bell tower needs to

be replaced. We are still looking for the screening materials. This will require ladders and

brave volunteers. Hope to get a big crowd of volunteers to make the work go quicker. Any

questions, call Gary Diekelmann 219 765-1256.

Join us for our regularly scheduled congregational meeting on

Monday, June 22nd. Congregational packets are available outside the worship area.

Trinity is working with Habitat for Humanity to build a home in Gary among several

other faith build homes! Work teams of up to 8 are needed for work days (need to be 18+) and

others can provide lunch (for 15 people). Work days are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Trinity's

work days are scheduled for July 23rd, 24th, 25th and September 24th, 25th, 26th. Sign up in the

Atrium or talk with Pastor Henderson for information.
