Laura & Ann
You will have read the article
about Ann and Laura who were
walking the Camino De
Santiago over Easter and
raising money for Crohn's and Colitis UK. Well, they made it!
The two girls raised a total of
£1,400.70.
It wasn’t an easy road though as
it rained persistently (bit like the
UK!)
In Ann’s words, “The path
onwards was often a morass
and it was simply a matter of
putting one foot in front of the
other with mule-like
persistence. The rain was by no
means a shower, but
downpours of driving rain. It
was a real test of endurance.
It took us 9 days to walk it,
averaging about 15 km a day.
We spent 3 luxurious days in the
Parador (Spain’s 5 star hotels)
and then moved on to
Finisterre, the most western
point of land in Europe and a
spot that used to be thought of
as the end of the world before
the early explorers found the
Americas”
Laura said, “The Camino has
taught me not to give up, but
also not to give in . It was very
hard at times but we supported
each other and we did manage
to laugh a lot. I spent time
