Meet Your Teacher…..I am from Greenville, South Carolina, but moved to Oldham County in 1998. I graduated from Oldham County High School and have seen a lot of changes over the years.

I graduated from University of Louisville with a Bachelors in Business Administration, Marketing and 3 years later, completed my Masters in Elementary Education.

Me and my family live in LaGrange on a farm with pigs, chickens and our 2 dogs!  My husband teaches Agriculture at Oldham county High school and my son, Barkley attends little Colonel Daycare!

We love to travel, garden, ride our Razor and be outside!

I am a huge Louisville Cardinal fan!

Pluses and Deltas

Plus (+) is a positive from our day

Delta ( ) is something we want to improve upon

• Students will complete a plus and delta almost every day. It will be located on the back of the weekly planner sheet.

• We will scaffold this reflective process by working on our plus and delta as a class (thinking about how we are doing as a whole).

• When students are ready, they will begin reflecting on their day as an individual- we hope to begin this by mid September.

Workshop

We use the workshop structure for most all lessons and content delivery throughout the school day.

A typical workshop looks like…-Mini-lesson (10-15 minutes)

-Work time (20- 30 minutes)

-Share & or Reflection (10-15 minutes)

We know that students learn best by “doing” and the workshop structure fosters a great environment for inquiry and practice with new learning.
