Many of us know Lydia as the Secretary of theWeinland Park Community Civic Association for thepast two years. Did you know, though, about herlove of creating art? She is a founding member ofthe WP Red Circleart group and will have workfeatured in the upcoming Weinland ParkCalendar , which will be distributed at theFestival (see more below).

Lydia doesnt have much art work around thehouse. She loves to give it away as much as sheloves making it! One exception is a painting(shown in the picture) using a marbling techniqueshe learned while visiting relatives in Turkey.Besides exploring new mediums, she mostlyenjoys drawing and watercolor.

While growing up, her mother turned everydayactivities into artistic endeavors and alwaysappreciated the beauty in common things, including gardening and cooking. That is a philosophyLydia would like to pass on to the children sheteaches. God gifted me in working with kids andcreating art, and I love integrating them.

Early this year, Lydias family expanded. With he

husband Jason, she welcomed baby Annelise intothe world. Now it is even easier to interact withthe neighborsbabies smile and attract converstion. Jason and I are very happy with our decisioto move to Weinland Park. There is so muchpotential, I love working with the children andparents in the Red Circles project the most.
