    Finding Report of weighbridge error at truck out side in Middle of

    December 2012

    Weighbridge truck out lay out:

    Abnormal Observation:

    1. The weight indication out of tolerant.

    2. The weight indication not same at four corner and center

    3. The indicator sometime shown some value during empty and fluctuates.

    Troubleshooting step:

    1. Disconnect and check all load cells ohm reading. Not detect any abnormality

    2. Replace load cell summing board located under weighbridge and adjust

    balancing resistor on new summing card.

    3. Check again all load cell ohm reading after get reading during empty and

    compare with initial reading.

    Defect finding

    1. The resistant reading for load cell no 3 and 4 sometime not going back to

    existing reading during empty load.

    Corrective Action Step:

    1. Replace both load cell no 3 and 4

    2. Balance all four corners and center reading by using forklift together with 1

    pallet of cement as a test weight. Total weight around 6t.

    3. Use few lorries with cement loaded around 40t and 70t to check the reading.

    4. Make zero and span correction at Metter Toledo.

    General finding and recommendations:

    1. A lot of spillage under around all load cell and touch the bridge. Most off the

    elastomer bearing, located under load cell was covered by spillage. Has to do

    regular cleaning to avoid of rusty and damage the elastomer bearing.

    2. The entire weighbridge pit floor filled with water and spillage. Water stagnant

    and cannot flow to sump pump pit due to block by spillage. Has to do regular

    cleaning. Suggest to raise up the floor about 3 inch high and 3 feed width

    along the bridge centre line.

    3. Sump pump panel box rusty. Has to replace with new. Suggest to relocate

    above ground floor.

    4. The sump pump pit cover is too heavy and difficult to open for pump

    inspection. The cover only can be open with two strong men. Suggest to

    replace with thinner plate, split to two pieces, fix with door hinge and handle.

    5. The pit area is dark. Recommend to install permanent lighting. Only switch on

    when require.

    Load Cell and Elastomer bearing. Condition in April 2009

    Sump pump pit cover. To change the cover with new design. To relocate the pump

    panel to outside the pit.
