The added bonus of camp food that is both plenful and tasty helps to round out the experience for all involved. We have also farewelled our inaugural student trip to Cambodia earlier this week. The group of senior students will be vising the World Heritage site of Angkor Wat, as well as other places of cultural significance in the city of Phnom Penh. This trip will help Kambrya College to forge strong relaonships with the Abundant Life Internaonal School in Cambodia and strengthen our newly formed Sister School relaonship with the school. We are hoping to have a reciprocal visit from the school in term four or early next year. This then brings us to the other trips that are running before the end of term. The annual trip to Japan will see students vising Osaka, Hiroshima and Kyoto. The visit to Germany will see students spending a significant amount of me at our sister school in Frankfurt, as well as a side trip to Berlin. On the local front we will farewell our Year 8 students on the annual trip to Tasmania and also our Year 10 students on their trip to Central Australia. We encourage parents to talk about these experiences with their children and we look forward to inving students to parcipate in similar experiences in 2018. Enjoy the weekend. Dear Parents and Guardians,

As the term draws to a close our camps program is in full swing. The Year 7 students have enjoyed some chilly but sunny weather at Forest Edge camp in Neerim. The magnificent facilities and location are regarded as some of the finest in the State. The added bonus of camp food that is both plentiful and tasty helps to round out the experience for all involved. We have also farewelled our inaugural student trip to Cambodia earlier this week. The group of senior students will be visiting the World Heritage site of Angkor Wat, as well as other places of cultural significance in the city of Phnom Penh. This trip will help Kambrya College to forge strong relationships with the Abundant Life International School in Cambodia and strengthen our newly formed Sister School relationship with the school. We are hoping to have a reciprocal visit from the school in term four or early next year. This then brings us to the other trips that are running before the end of term. The annual trip to Japan will see students visiting Osaka, Hiroshima and Kyoto. The visit to Germany will see students spending a significant amount of time at our sister school in Frankfurt, as well as a side trip to Berlin. ADP News

On Wednesday 23rd August, the Year 7 and 8 ADP girls got the opportunity to listen to two motivational speakers (Daisy Pearce and Liz Gallo) at the Girl Unlocked Project at The Melbourne Exhibition Centre with Mr Price. I have been lucky enough to meet Daisy Pearce before this event. The main point that she spoke about was that you make the change you want to see. I think she spoke about this because when she was younger she lived in a small town where football was not that big but she was determined to play, so she played with the boys. She told us to go follow our dreams no matter what obstacles are put in our way in life. This caught my attention because I really want to go far and do well with my football, so if I make it happen then I will be doing something I love.

The second motivational speaker was Liz Gallo who I have never met or heard of before who talked about the importance of loving yourself and not changing because of what others think. This is a big thing be-cause many girls are being teased about their weight and their image, which should not be happening because this leads to mental health issues. She also went on to discuss the importance of being resilient and as hard as it can be sometimes you have to push through and not let the ‘ bullies ‘ get to you and over-come this. Overall the day was a great experience which we all thoroughly enjoyed and gained a wealth of knowledge that we all took away to use.

Student Leadership News

On Friday morning students from the senior student leadership team along with some of the junior captains workshopped with 16 student leaders from Berwick Fields to work alongside and grow both groups leader-ship talents as well as discuss areas we both can benefit our schools. The event was a large success with the Kambrya students thoroughly enjoying themselves and feeling the gross benefits from the ability to present and share ideas. We have also received positive feedback from the Primary school and will look forward to eventually continuing this further. We discussed improving public speaking, problem solving, team work and engagement skills before doing team building activities in the gymnasium. Calllum Sweet SRC Co-President
