The most exciting and prestigious event in the British popmusic calendar is upon us once again as ITV’s foremostmusic talent show presenters Dermot O’Leary and EmmaWillis take up hosting duties for the first time. The showcomes live from London’s O2 Arena for the event’s 37thceremony, featuring live performances from the cream ofBritish and international musical talent, including Little Mix,Robbie Williams, The 1975, Emeli Sande, Rihanna, Skeptaand Bruno Mars, as well as more surprises that are yet tobe announced. There will also no doubt be one or two ofthe special collaborative performances which the ceremonyhas become famous for. Past years have seen artists coming together to create unique versions oftheir hits, and fans will be hoping that the show pulls out another memorable performance from itshat. The Critics’ Choice award has proven to be an enormously accurate indicator of the next bigthing in British music. Since its inception in 2008, the prize has gone to Adele, Florence and theMachine, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Emeli Sande, Tom Odell, Sam Smith, James Bay and JackGarratt, and this year goes to Rag’n’Bone Man (pictured). The most sought-after gong, as ever, willbe the Mastercard British Album of the Year. On the shortlist are David Bowie, The 1975, Kano,Michael Kiwanuka and Skepta. Who will be toasting victory and taking home a statuette – which for2017 are designed by the late architect Dame Zaha Hadid – this year?

Motorways hold a unique place in British hearts.Love them or loathe them, most people have to usethem. They make a huge difference to the nationaleconomy, costing the UK millions of pounds everyminute that they are closed. This entertaining andaction-packed documentary series goes behind thescenes and out onto the roads with the characterswho work on one of the most famous and busiestmotorways in Britain – the M25.With around 200,000 people using it every day, rushhour is usually chaotic and today things areparticularly bad in the first episode of the series. InDartford, two traffic collisions have brought the entire area to a standstill. In the M25 NorthernControl Room, operator Emily is under pressure. Out on the road, traffic officers Simon and Garyare dealing with a four-car pile-up that is blocking two lanes. Traffic officers Andy and Keith attend anasty crash between a lorry and a commuter, who has sustained suspected neck injures. The twotraffic officers have to keep the emergency services safe on the motorway while they deal with thecasualty. In the middle of all the drama, maintenance crew Jack and Jamie are clearing up a laybyfull of rubbish and human waste left by lorry drivers – a job not for the faint-hearted.

The couple start their journey with awalk around South Africa’s mother city –Cape Town. They have also have a look atsome of the stunning scenery around themincluding the magnificent Table Mountain –down which Phillip is going to abseil. Thenthe couple stop off to have a drumminglesson, taught by a djembe instructor. Phillipand Steph join a group of drummers to seeif they can pick up some of the rhythms ofthis remarkable country.

His journey takes him to a series of secretlocations across America to meet women who know theriches, the pain and the sense of betrayal that life witha mobster can bring. Trevor meets Marian Romano, thewife of one of the richest gangsters in mob history – acrooked Wall Street trader who made hundreds ofmillions in illegal stocks and shares for the mob... andhimself. Sal built her a palatial $5 million mansion inStaten Island and they held private parties with stars such as Paul Anka. But the net closed in andSal went to prison, insisting that they kept the real story from their family. Trevor also sits down fordinner with Donna Mangiavillano, her daughters Stefanie and Victoria and husband Salvatore, whoonce made millions masterminding bank heists for the mob. When he chose to cooperate with theFBI, Donna and her daughters were furious at his betrayal of the Mafia, even though it meant hecould avoid yet more years in prison and see his daughters grow up. Donna refused to go intowitness protection with her husband, and Victoria tells Trevor how they live with the fear that oneday the mafia will exact its revenge on them.

The globally successful talent show brandcontinues its sixth British series in its new homeon ITV this weekend. Host Emma Willis hasgone it alone this year, this week presiding overall the action as the blind auditions come to aclose. With only a handful of places left, each ofthe remaining acts will be doing their best tograb the attention of this year’s four starcoaches. The multi-talented will.i.am of BlackEyed Peas fame has returned for his sixth stintas a coach, joined by the returning Britishsinging legend Sir Tom Jones and two newfaces on the panel – rock band Bush’s leadsinger Gavin Rossdale and Oscar-winning singer and actor Jennifer Hudson. As the blind auditionsconclude, it is only The Voice that counts, and the singing hopefuls will have to truly command thestage if they want to get those infamous red chairs spinning, especially with this year’s brutal twistmeaning that unsuccessful singers leave the stage without getting a chance to meet the coachesface-to-face. This series has already proven to be a blockbuster pitch battle as the four coaches vieto convince singers to join their teams, but who will go on to the next stage for a chance to battle itout for a record deal with music giants Polydor?

In this new series, Robson Green travels along someof the nation’s most fascinating stretches of coastlineto discover just what it is about our shoreline thatcontinues to cast its spell. On each journey he takeson exciting new experiences and meets people whoshare Robson’s passion for the coast. In the lastepisode of the series, Robson visits Essex andSuffolk for a journey along one of the most variedcoastal landscapes in Britain. His east coast journeybegins in the famous salt marshes of the Blackwaterestuary, where he finds himself knee deep in sludgeas he attempts to run the route of the Maldon MudRace. At Clacton-on-Sea, Robson recalls the teenage hysteria of the early sixties, as he reunites agroup of mods and rockers who hit the headlines when they clashed on the beach there in 1964. InSuffolk, Robson visits a giant shingle spit called Orford Ness, once a top secret military base thatplayed a vital role in defending Britain from attack in both world wars and was a testing site foratomic bombs. His final destination on the east coast is the resort of Southwold where he meets theowners of some of Britain’s most sought-after beach huts and hears the emotional stories behindthe highly personal plaques which adorn its pier.

The showfollows young British holidaymakers and the reps whoare tasked with entertaining them during one wildweekend. Larger-than-life David is now running theshow with a crack team of reps at his side and a newset of rules on the wall. Pint-sized pretty boy Deano isback on the team, as bronzed as ever but claiming tohave turned his back on romance. Deano’s old flame -rep royalty Imogen - is back on the scene as well, but isdeclaring loyalty to her boyfriend back home. At leasthot new girls Laura and Hayley have no ties and are upfor some fun and flirting, just as long as they remember the first of David’s new rules – guests comefirst! Infamous former ladies’ man Jordan is also back and newly single, but will he be sticking to therules or making up for lost time? Ensuring even more drama to come is the recruitment of LoveIsland’s Rykard, who hopes to play cupid to guests and reps alike. In this week’s episode, Jordanremains in charge as David languishes in his sick bed, and despite Hayley’s best attempts, he hasso far managed to stay focused on the job at hand. Returning to ITV4 after its 2016 debut, Jill Douglas hosts the 2017 Snooker Shoot Out, which thisyear is held at the Watford Colosseum. Joining Jill for the ITV4 coverage are Stephen Hendry, AlanMcManus and Neal Foulds, while Clive Everton and Phil Yates are in the commentary box.The Coral Snooker Shoot Out is one of the most exciting events on the snooker calendar. Itfeatures a one-frame knock out format with all matches lasting a maximum of ten minutes, using a

shot clock of 15 seconds for the first fiveminutes and 10 seconds for the last five. Thisyear, the tournament has been upgraded to aranking event which will host 128 of theworld’s top players, all competing for the topprize of £32,000.Finland’s Robin Hull is the defendingchampion, beating Luca Brecel of Belgium 50-36, and previous winners include England’sNigel Bond, Barry Hawkins and Martin Gould,and the Welsh duo Dominic Dale and MichaelWhite.

Another chance to see a double-bill from theacclaimed crime drama starring Brenda Blethyn as thecaustic, complex DCI Vera Stanhope of theNorthumbria and City Police. In Death of a FamilyMan, Vera investigates the mysterious death ofbusinessman John Shearwood, found floating in thewater under the Gateshead Millennium Bridge whenhe was supposed to be on a golf trip to Ireland. John'swife Stella (Maibritt Saerens) and brother Luke (ColinTierney) are baffled to discover that John has beenworking as an informant for HM Revenue andCustoms. But why would he spy on his own firm?Changing Tides sees Vera investigating a suspicious fire that rips through a holiday park on theNorthumberland coast. Three cabins are destroyed and the body of a woman is found inside. Parkowner Jim Viner (Wayne Foskett) returns with his daughter Claire (Katherine Rose Morley) from aweekend away. He quickly suspects that the body is his sister Deena but cannot explain why shewas there and not at the family home. A police report reveals that Claire's boyfriend Ryan (ElliottJames Langridge) and his friends had been partying near the caravan hours before the blazestarted. But where are they now? And where is Deena's best friend Sally? When Vera discoversthat Deena was locked in her cabin, she knows this is more than just an accident.

ITV to show Rugby World Cup exclusively to 2023

ITV will show the Rugby World Cup exclusively for the next two tournaments, under the terms of anew deal announced Saturday 4 February 2017. The two event deal extends ITV’s long partnershipwith the sport’s showpiece event and will also see the broadcaster show the Women’s Rugby WorldCup this year, as well as the World Rugby U20 Championship between 2017 and 2019.Following ITV’s production and broadcast of the most watched ever Rugby World Cup in 2015, thisnew deal means all the action from the Japan 2019 and 2023 tournaments will be shown exclusivelyfree-to-air to UK viewers on its channels. John Bishop joins The Nightly Show line-up for ITV

ITV announces John Bishop as one of the hosts for The Nightly Show, the brand new week nightentertainment series going out at 10pm this coming spring.Bishop joins already announced hosts, David Walliams and Gordon Ramsay for the 30-minute dailyentertainment show being produced for ITV by Second Act Productions.John Bishop says: “The Nightly Show is a great concept and I like the idea of doing somethingcompletely different for a week.
