PASTOR’S WORD
THE BELIEVER’S AUTHORITY
(Luke 10: 17-20)
Jesus said to His disciples; “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions
and to overcome all the power of the enemy: nothing will harm you” (Luke 10:19). Every
believer has been vested with divine authority. Every believer is expected to use this
authority to advance the kingdom of God and to destroy the works of Satan. Jesus saw
Satan fall like lightning from heaven because His disciples went out and ministered with
authority and power (Luke 10:18).
The Believer’s Authority;
I. A Divine Gift
II. A Weapon against Satan
III. Implementing God’s Kingdom
IV. Setting the Captives Free
V. Glorifying God
The seventy-two disciples that Jesus sent out returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the
demons submit to us in your Name” (Luke 10:17). These believers exercised their
redemptive dominion with authority. Demons, diseases, discouragement, despair, debts
submitted to them in the name of Jesus. Take your authority in Christ today. Speak to that
mountain and it will move (Math. 17:20). Do not be afraid. Be strong and courageous. You
will see the power of God manifested.
