    Welcome from the Chair

Hello to you all, and welcome to my first weekly newsletter of 2012.

I'm James Rawiri Meager, Chair of the Young Nationals Southern

Region, and I'd like to thank you all for choosing, in one way or

another, to be a part of the Southern Young Nats.

2012 will be massive year for us as we look to implement a number of

new and exciting programmes to help re-establish the Southern Young

Nats as the prominent political voice for young people in the southern

South Island (what we call the Southern Region). The 2011 general

election saw us play a prominent role in capturing the party vote for

National in Dunedin South for the first time under MMP, as well as

maintaining high visibility for our Senior Government Whip Michael

Woodhouse in the campaign for Dunedin North. In 2012 we intend on

reaching out further to our other constituent electorates - Waitaki,

Clutha-Southland, and Invercargill - so that we can truly represent thewhole of the Southern Region.

Stay tuned as we start unveiling some innovative and fresh programmes

and events in the next few weeks, they're all designed to offer you a

tangible reason to continue to be a part of our growing organisation

and help to build a brighter future for all New Zealanders.
