Do What You Fear By Karl Monson on February 13th, 2013 Tonight as I was reading The 4 Hour Work Week, Tim Ferris was pointing out the idea that usually the thing you fear most is the thing you should do. Many people fear leaving their j.o.b.s. or travelling or who knows what because it will make them uncomfortable. Let me tell you that just outside of your comfort zone is where growth happens. Nothing is gained from standing idly by, watching life from the sidelines of the playing field. True leaders will tell you that to experience true happiness and true growth in your life is to get uncomfortable. The moment you get comfortable, you know it’s time for a change. This is something I have been facing for a few months now, where I see myself starting to get complaicent and just lull on from day to day like the rest of the work force drones. Some of my happiest memories come from events and activities where I feel absolutely ridiculous but yet I grow so much from those experiences. And in my opinion, it’s when the truth can finally be revealed. So I think to myself, what can I do to get uncomfortable… and the first thing that comes to mind is I need to untie myself from the strings that are holding me down right now. I need to be in a place where I can go and do, rather than just sit and wait. I feel like for a few years now I have had a “waiting” mentality where I know I will be successful but I want it to fall in my lap. I WAS BEING A WUSSY! Success isn’t just given, it’s something that is earned. People fight hard every day for their success that they have, and they rightfully deserve every ounce of success in their life. I need to start fighting harder. Many of my close friends and family can tell you that for years I’ve been talking about all of my success that I will have. Well the time has come to go and get it. To start fighting for my freedom along side many millionaires and top leaders in the world. As David Sharpe put it best, “Don’t just talk about it, be about it.” I have been afraid of leaving this reality that I know of going to my j.o.b. every day at nine and getting home at five, but this is the time to look that fear in the face and say bring it on. I’m not afraid. I will take a stand. Join forces with me. Let’s take this country by storm. If you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired, the let’s lock arms and fight for our freedom together. Get started now! These Guys Are RIDICULOUS! By Karl Monson on February 12th, 2013 This video is just RIDICULOUS! I mean seriously, these guys are on a war path to slap normal in the freaking face. The greatest thing about them, is they don’t have a filter. They are who they are, and they don’t care if you love them or hate them because they are living and speaking their truth. They are so confident in what they are doing, and their belief level is so high that literally nothing can touch them. Assault Weapons Ban PushedAside For Broader LegislationBy Karl Monson on February 5th, 2013

Top analysts agree that the Assault Weapons Ban will likelynot make it into law. It’s believed that even though the law willget a vote, it won’t receive enough votes necessary to push it toits final legislative procedures.

Most people believe that the Assault Weapons Ban is one of themost controversial laws that any office has tried to push intoeffect, in part that it would be changing the Constifution of theUnited States. Many didn’t even expect any sort of attempt toban assault weapons, thus making the Obama administrationthe first to challenge the Constitution for their own politicalbeliefs.

The other three components of the gun control platform —a universal background check for firearms sales, a federaltrafficking law, and a ban on high-capacity magazines — arelikely to move on into legislative vote and will take effect. Whatdoes this mean for US Citizens? It could lead to higher gun andammo prices, longer background check periods, and sadly nomore barrel clips.

For one of the first times, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid iskeeping his hands clean on the issue, letting Senate JudiciaryCommittee Chairman Patrick Leahy take the lead on this bill.

“We are not dictating to Judiciary what is in the bill,” said aSenate leadership aide.

One of the promises made by Harry Reid is that the bill willin fact get a vote, but how, where, and when are still unknownfactors.

If the bill passes the vote without an Assault Weapons ban init, Reid will allow for the ban to be put back on the senate flooras an amendment. However if the bill passes with an AssaultWeapons ban in it, then Reid will allow for a vote for it to bestripped out.

“There is a chance that the Judiciary committee bill willinclude [an assault weapons ban], but it is unclear,” said onea committee source.

There is also a chance that the Judiciary committee willnot report a comprehensive bill at all. It is said that Leahyhas not ruled anything out or in, leaving everything all ofthe components of the gun legislation separated rather thanincluding everything in one comprehensive bill. This wouldincrease the likelihood of some components of the legislationbeing pushed into law, without risking the more controversialaspects of the legislation being put into effect. This however isleaving several House Democrats skeptical saying things such

as mental health funding would go into effect, but leave thingslike weapon capacity unaddressed.

“The vast majority of Americans, including a majority ofgun owners, support requiring criminal background checks,”Obama said on Monday, calling the proposal “common sense.”“We don’t have to agree on everything to agree it’s time to dosomething.”

There is currently no Republican member who is backing thegun control legislation, while this may not be a concern in theJudiciary committee, but would prove to be a major obstacleon the senate floor for the Democrats to save the bill from itsdemise.

Many gun control advocates are not emotionally attached tothe bill, saying that they do not see it as a primary mechanismfor ending gun violence in America.

“When the assault weapons ban comes to the floor, proponentsincluding us will have to contend with the fact that very fewassault weapons are actually used in a crime,” Jim Kessler, aformer director of policy and research at Americans for GunSafety and co-founder of the centrist-Democratic organizationThird Way. “That’s the challenge with passing this law. On theone hand, it seems that in a civil society we should draw aline on what kind of weapon a person can own. And weaponsdesigned for warfare belong on the other side of that line. Onthe other hand, if you are going to die at the hands of a criminalwith a gun, it’s going to be a handgun.”
