We had two guest speakers, Tom Ojwang of Mbwara University in Uganda and Rosalie Cartier. Tom spoke about a possible international project Red Hook Rotary could get involved with in Uganda. Rosalie, a registered nurse, spoke about the need for staying physically and mentally active in retirement as the key to aging gracefully. Shown above are speaker host Rev. David Wright was recognized by the club as Rotarian of the Year for his outstanding work on our immensely successful Apple Blossom Day. Immediate Past-President Susan Simon presented David with a plaque. (photo: Rev. Fred Cartier)

Baxter's Bash - our annual picnic will be on Tuesday, August 30th at the Red Hook Recreation Park Pavilion at 6:00 p.m. Details to follow. (There will be no morning meeting that day.)
Save the Date - Citizen of the Year Dinner - Tuesday, October 18th. The nomination form for Citizen of the Year is printed elsewhere in this issue of the newsletter.
� Books and magazines needed for the hospital. Rev. Fred Cartier is collecting books and magazines for Northern Dutchess Hospital's reading cart. Please bring your magazines and books to Fred at any breakfast meeting. Labels have been made to affix to the magazines indicating they have been donated by the Red Hook Rotary Club.
