What was a fun or memorable phone call you’ve received in your life? Tell us about it. Which campus did you attend on Sunday? What stood out to you from that sermon? Whether you were at Monrovia High School and heard Pastor Lissette’s sermon or you were at Huntington Drive Campus and heard Pastor Christine’s sermon, today we learned through Hagar’s story that we have a God who sees. We have a God who sees us when the world would rather expose us, who intimately names us while the world would rather label us. We have a God who sees the heart of what’s really happening in our lives. This God who cares to ask, “Where have you come from? Where are you going?” Because of God’s character, we who follow Him are called to be seen by God and to see others the way God sees them. 1. What is a label that’s been used to describe you that you don't like? What is a name that God has given you? 2. Hagar ran and hid in the wilderness. What is your initial response to conflict or fear? Is it to run and hide, or to stay and fight? Share an experience of either approach. 3. Do you feel “seen” by God? What comes to mind when you think about being seen? Do you feel that God is distant? Do you think God isn’t doing enough in response to what He sees? Do you believe you are deeply loved and seen by God? Why or why not? 4. Lisette talked about the call to see others like God sees them. Who is someone in your life that needs to be “seen” by you? What can you do to practice seeing others as God sees them this week? Spend some time in prayer for one another. Pray for eyes to see others as God sees you, and pray for opportunities to know you are seen by God.

Where are you going?”

Because of God’s character, we who follow Him are called to be seen by God and to see others the way God sees them.
