Read the story of ‘The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse’
and answer questions about it. There are differentiated questions
so choose which sheet (look at the stars at the bottom of the
page) to answer.
* easy, ** average, *** harder
Resources: Reading Comprehension
Look at the Y1 and Y2 spelling word list and pick out five words
that you need to learn how to spell. Find some fun ways to help
you to learn how to spell these. You could write these using
bubble writing, chalks (outside), magnetic letters, shaving foam, a
paintbrush just dipped in water, lego, felt tips or scrabble letters
for example. This activity will stay the same each week, just
choose five new words each week.

The Calling of the Fishermen
Have any of you ever been fishing? Fishing is a fun, quiet, and relaxing hobby. It’s a great way to spend some time outdoors, and it’s
fun to catch fish for sport, or for food. Some of the disciples of Jesus were fishermen. Look at the PowerPoint and discuss it with an
adult. Why do you think Jesus chose some fishermen to be his disciples? What do you think other people might have said about the
choice he made?
Resources: The Calling of the Fishermen PPT
Make and decorate a paper boat to remember about the disciples becoming the fishers of men. Use the link to help you with the activity.
