After achieving an early 1st and 2nd QTR lead QB Tony Romo was hit HARD by Giants line- backer Michael Bowley , and ended up on the ground, out of breath and with a broken clavicle that will likely keep him out for most of the rest of the season. This last disaster more than proba- bly marks the end of the season for t he struggling Cowboys, who wer e predicted b y many ana- lysts, and their o wner Jim Jones, to be at home in their shi ny new stadium f or the Superbowl. At 1-5 chances are almost impossible for the team to reach the playoffs, only the Bengals from 1970 have been the only team to e ver do so . Dallas 2nd str ing QB Jon Kitna struggled early on but im- proved as the night went on in his first showing on the NFL field since Oct 2008. Kitna threw 2 TD passes to rookie Dez Bryant, who had a stellar night even with the loss with a 93 yard punt return for a TD about halfway through the 2nd QTR and the pair of TD receptions from Kitna in a last gasp attempt at victory in the last three minutes of the game. The Cowbo ys could not close the 18 point distance in the 4th QTR and ended up with a 41-35 loss at home. While the Giants did not play a perfect game themselves, QB Eli Manning was more than happy to capitalize on the loss of the only driving force that the Cowboys have, and quickly stacked the points on the board towards the end of the 2nd QTR and through the rest of the evening, going 25/35 for just over 300 yards, with a total of 4 TDs, and 3 INTS. Brandon Jacobs also carried the ball into the endzone with a 35 yd run at the end of the thi rd. Lawrence Tynes kicked a pair of FGS for the Giants, who ha ve won their last four games, one fr om 53 and one from 26, both  within the games 2 2-minute warning periods. Romo was diagnosed during halftime aft er x-rays sho wed the fractur ed left clavicle. The Cow- boys also lost DE Jason Hatcher and Montrae Holland to groin injuri es. The loudest applause of the night went to former MLB star Nolan Ryan, who was in the stands for the game and whose old team, the Rangers, are headed t o the W orld Ser ies.
