WEEK 5 – GOOD MORNING!

DO NOW: * Please grab a Storyboarding

packet from the back, AND your folders!

* THEN, download today’s lecture PowerPoint from the

blog!

The week ahead… As I will be absent from school for the remainder of the week, I am alerting

you now of what your assignments are.

I expect them to be completed by the time I return next Monday. Each assignment will be worth 2 project grades AND 2 Participation grades – 50 % of your entire grade for this 6 weeks.

If you do not complete them you will fall behind and fail this six weeks. You will have no one to blame but yourself.

I encourage you to use the time provided and RESPECT your substitute(s).

What should I be doing? Now that you have completed your short story, it is time to learn about

storyboarding. The packet provided to you will walk you through all of the terms and techniques used in storyboarding. By the time I come back you should be fluent in how to make a storyboard.

You will write down the entire definition, and sketch out each example, just like we did with the Elements of Art booklet.

When you complete this, you should be using the remainder of your time to get started on your movie poster. There are two tutorials on the blog.

The week I return, you will be working on both the final movie poster, AND storyboarding a scene from your short story. You will only have ONE WEEK upon my return to complete BOTH projects. I encourage you to get as much done of your Movie Poster as you can! REMEMBER: TIME MANAGEMENT

Tips for the Movie Poster There are two tutorials I have provided on www.chavezemedia.wordpress.com for your poster!

I encourage you to look up more advanced tutorials on Google and Youtube for making movie posters, making sure that you are also doing your research on the GENRE of your movie.

* If you are new to the class, use your neighbors! Do the best that you can, and I will understand!

REMEMBER: Your movie MUST INCLUDE: Title Fake Credits Characters 18” x 24”

TODAYSome of you did not finish your short stories from last

week. You have until the end of class to submit the FINAL TYPED short story for a project grade.

Your 4 THUMBNAIL SKETCHES are also due TODAY, as mentioned LAST WEEK. I will come around today and take a grade for your sketches during the last 10 minutes of class!

GOOD LUCK!& Have a wonderful week!
