What is the measure of angle B?

Since a triangle has 180 degrees, I subtracted the angle I knew from 180. I split the remainder evenly between the other two angles. Since angle A is larger than angle B by 20 degrees, I split the difference and added the extra 10 to A. I subtracted the 10 from B. I added the three angles together to check my answer.

I triangle ABC, the degree of angle A is 20o greater than the degree measure of angle B. Angle C is a right angle. Calculate the measure of angle B.

The measure of angle B is 35 degrees.

How much will each person pay?

To find the sales price, I multiplied the original cost by the percent actually paid (after converting to a decimal). To find the tax, I multiplied the tax percent and 100% of the cost by the sales price. To find the approximate cost for each, I divided the amount by 3 (after I rounded).

What is the volume of the new prism?

I found the scale factor of the volumes by cubing the original scale factor. I used the scale factor of the volumes to set up a proportion with the known volume. Since the scale factor is less than 1, I knew we went from large to small. I solved the proportion by multiplying by 3 to get the volume of the smaller prism.

Two prisms are similar. The scale factor is 1/3. The volume of the larger prism is 81 cm3. Calculate the volume of the smaller prism.

The volume of the smaller prism is 3 cubic centimeters.
