    Prince Ronald: Ronald is a narcissistic and selfish prince.He has picked Elizabeth for his queen, even though hedoes not really love her. When the dragon attacks the

    castle and kidnaps him, Elizabeth goes to great lengths torescue him, but he does not appreciate the love she hasshown him. Elizabeth realizes that he is a shallow,conceited jerk and they part.

    Dragon: He is the typical depiction of the Europeandragon, with green scaly skin, an alligator belly, two smallwings, and four scaly feet with eagle talons. He canbreathe fire, which puts him at the very top of the animalfood chain and makes him physically superior to mankindin the medieval time period in which the story is set. Hisflames are extremely powerful. In the plot, he attacksPrincess Elizabeth's castle and kidnaps Prince Ronald.

    Princess Elizabeth plans on marrying Prince

    Ronald, who is practically perfect. However, adragon arrives who destroys her kingdom,kidnaps Ronald, and burns all her clothes so thatshe has no choice but to wear a paper bag.Elizabeth follows the dragon and Ronald, and

    seeking to rescue her fianc, challenges thedragon to burn forests with fire and to fly aroundthe world. The dragon completes the tasks butafter flying around the world a second time

    becomes tired and falls asleep. Elizabeth rescuesRonald, who is ungrateful and tells her to returnwhen she looks more like a princess. Elizabethrealizes that she is better off without Ronald andsets off into the sunset to live her own life.

    3) Setting

    The story takes place in some medieval place.At the beginning of the story, the Princess is at

    her castle, but throughout the story she travelsthrough the medieval land to hunt down thedragon and Ronald. On her journey to find themshe travels through burnt forests. After her

    long journey, Elizabeth travels to the dragonscave, where Ronald is trapped. Elizabeth sendsthe dragon on tasks that take place around theworld, leading the reader to believe that thisstory took place on earth. This story would fallunder the genre of fantasy, because the actionsthat occur throughout the story could not happenin a realistic setting.

    5) Diction (manner of expression/use of words)

    It has simplified language making the vocabulary

    6) Length

    The length is beneficial for students who do notlike to read lengthy texts. Students could readthrough the story quickly making it an easy wayto practice creating plot graphs and identifyingother short story elements.

    7) Illustration

    -The Princess expressiveness through bodylanguage, such as her facial expression,placement of her arms, and her posture, drawsthe reader's attention in all the illustrations.Students can use the illustrations to further theirunderstanding of the story and how theillustrations compliment the story.
