Principal’s Message What a fun way to finish the week we had last Friday at our annu- al athletics carnival. We began with a warm, clear morning and quickly completed most of the events. Luckily the rain waited un- til lunchtime when we enjoyed the delicious lunch menu prepared by our talented P&C ladies. Running in the rain may have been the highlight of the day, with the relays and 800 m events a little soggy, but finished. The remaining activities will be held next Thursday 1st August with the sub junior high jump at lunchtime and the ball games competition beginning at 2.30pm. We will have our first assembly of the term after the ball games to present the winning team, individual champions and class awards. Everyone is welcome to attend the afternoon to acknowledge sporting excellence at Blandford PS. A big thank you to Mrs Cooper for her continued hard work organ- ising and managing this highlight event on our school calendar. Belltrees Athletics Carnival Arrangements for the Belltrees carnival were sent out this week. This is a great family day and almost always very cold, so bring plenty of warm gear. There is a canteen operating on the day but a picnic lunch is always nice. The day begins at 9.00am, please ask for directions if this is your first time at Belltrees. As mentioned in the information note, the Belltrees carnival will look and feel differently to previous years. We will collect con- structive critique and forward these on to the organisers. As al- ways, Blandford students will “do their best”. New Region The DEC has created new education regions over the past several months. We are no longer members of the Hunter Central Coast Region, but now a member school of the Wollemi Group. Our new Director, Mr Mark Young, has visited our school today to say hello to staff and students and walk around our lovely school. Cameron and Tyler have done a fine job welcoming Mr Young at the school gate as he arrived. Mr Young is very impressed with our school leaders, all of our students, our wonderful grounds and our staff. Our group will now be managed from the DEC Tamworth office. Enjoy the rest of your week . Principal’s Message

What a fun way to finish the week we had last Friday at our annu-

al athletics carnival. We began with a warm, clear morning and quickly completed most of the events. Luckily the rain waited un-

til lunchtime when we enjoyed the delicious lunch menu prepared

by our talented P&C ladies.

Running in the rain may have been the highlight of the day, with

the relays and 800 m events a little soggy, but finished.

The remaining activities will be held next Thursday 1st August

with the sub junior high jump at lunchtime and the ball

games competition beginning at 2.30pm.

We will have our first assembly of the term after the ball games

to present the winning team, individual champions and class awards. Everyone is welcome to attend the afternoon to

acknowledge sporting excellence at Blandford PS.

A big thank you to Mrs Cooper for her continued hard work organ-

ising and managing this highlight event on our school calendar.

Belltrees Athletics Carnival

Arrangements for the Belltrees carnival were sent out this week.

This is a great family day and almost always very cold, so bring plenty of warm gear. There is a canteen operating on the day but a picnic lunch is always nice. The day begins at 9.00am, please

ask for directions if this is your first time at Belltrees.

As mentioned in the information note, the Belltrees carnival will

look and feel differently to previous years. We will collect con-structive critique and forward these on to the organisers. As al-

ways, Blandford students will “do their best”.

New Region

The DEC has created new education regions over the past several

months. We are no longer members of the Hunter Central Coast Region, but now a member school of the Wollemi Group. Our new Director, Mr Mark Young, has visited our school today to say

hello to staff and students and walk around our lovely school.

Cameron and Tyler have done a fine job welcoming Mr Young at

the school gate as he arrived. Mr Young is very impressed with our school leaders, all of our students, our wonderful grounds and

our staff.

Our group will now be managed from the DEC Tamworth office.

Enjoy the rest of your week . Isabel Fox Principal

School Photos

The photographers came last Thursday and spent the morning taking beautiful photos of

our students and staff. We have had a little peek at the images on the camera and are very confident that the 2013 school photos will be of a high standard. It will be a while until the

delivery is made, possibly towards the middle of the term.
