Week 1. Term 2, Thursday 1st May 2014
NewslETTER
Principals Report Welcome back to Term 2 . It has been
wonderful to hear students’ holiday news and see
their enthusiasm to recommence learning this term.
A successful School Development Day was
conducted on Monday 28th April. SDD’s are very
beneficial for teachers to work together as active
learners, planning across school development for
effective curriculum delivery.
Thank you parents who were able to have their
children looking so smart for the ANZAC Day march
during the school holidays. Robyn Stewart

YEAR 5 and 6 Dorrigo Excursion Last term years 5 and 6 went on an excursion to a rainforest in Dorrigo for
a day. We left school at 7:30am and got back to school at 5:45pm. We
travelled for 3 hours and got off the bus at the rainforest lunch area. As
we were having lunch two bush turkeys came up to see if we had any
food. Then we got back on the bus to go to the walking track. There we
met two rangers who took us on a walk. We went to a board walk where
we saw the forest floor and the understory of the rainforest. Then we
went back down to the ground where the ranger showed us walking
stick palms with edible berries, a
stinging tree, a wait-a-while and a
strangler fig. We also saw some fungi
that is supposed to glow. Then we
went to Crystal Falls. We got to walk
behind the waterfall. Afterwards we
went to the skywalk were we saw the canopy and the emergent
layer and a mountain called the sleeping man. We also went to
the information centre and saw some very interesting things.
We had a great time.
