Features of a Diary Entry:

Dear Diary,

Write in the past tense.

Write in chronological order (the order things happened)

Use pronouns (I, we, us etc.)

Each question represents a paragraph!

For each question, try to use adjectives,

expanded noun phrases, similes, adverbs

and fronted adverbials.

word or synonym

for ______ and

you’ll have lots of

choices!

Go through your second and third

paragraph.

Are there any words that a younger

sibling or cousin may use?

Change those words to Year 3 level!

Once you have got lots of editing on

your diary entry, write it up neatly

with your new words/phrases!

Once you’re done, perform this to

your family or friends and try and

convince them you’re ACTUALLY from

the Stone Age!
