Apply to actively growing plants. Re-treatmentand/or pasture improvement is recommended torestrict seedling re-establishment.

Apply when actively growing and at or beyondthe early bloom stage of growth, but beforeautumn colour changes occur. Thoroughcoverage is necessary for best control.

NON-CULTIVATED SITUATIONS: Apply toactively growing plants in late summer-autumn(Feb-Apr) when at least 20% have reached thehead stage.

ARABLE LAND: Make FIRST APPLICATION toactively growing plants when at least 20% havereached the head stage (normally about Feb). After allowing maximum re-emergence to occur(normally in 6-8 weeks) it is essential to make aSECOND APPLICATION. NOTE: In arable landNutgrass may rapidly regenerate from isolatednuts. Follow up treatments should be made aspart of a Nutgrass control program.

Apply to actively growing plants during spring, summer or autumn. Ensure complete coverage ofthe foliage. For best results, apply after flowering. For easier access, large plants may be cut orburnt prior to spraying, but first allow regrowth toreach 1m. Use the higher rate on plants over 1mhigh. LOW VOLUME APPLICATION: Use 1:9(10%) mixture of this product to water. Apply2x2mL per 0.5m height. Ensure spray contacts allfoliage.

Apply to actively growing plants when most havereached the early head stage.

Apply to actively growing plants prior to seeding.Repeat applications may be necessary to controlseedlings and/or regrowth.

Apply to actively growing plants during winter-spring. Use the lower rate where only knockdownis required eg. prior to burning of firebreaks.Burning can usually start 14-21 days afterspraying. For long term control increase to thehigher rate.

Apply to actively growing plants at the early headstage. Symptoms may be slow to develop.

Apply to actively growing plants at the early headstage.

Apply in late summer-autumn to actively growingplants with foliage at least 20cm high. To ensuremaximum shoot emergence the area should NOTbe cultivated in the period from the precedingwinter until the time of spraying.

Apply by wiper equipment to actively growingplants. Where there is a large proportion of deadfoliage, pre-slashing is recommended. Allowadequate regrowth before treatment. ReferWIPER EQUIPMENT section for applicationinstruction.

Apply to actively growing plants in flowering topost-flowering period (Oct-Apr). Use the lowerrate only if the stand has been slashed prior totreatment. Re-treatment may be necessary.Visible symptoms may not be fully apparent forup to 3 months. Use of CDA equipment is notrecommended.

Use ONLY under good soil moisture conditions.Apply to actively growing plants at the lateflowering to berry stage. Repeat spraying will benecessary to restrict regrowth and seedling re-establishment.

Apply to actively growing plants when most havereached the early bud stage. In ConservationTillage situations, 1.5L/ha provides seasonalsuppression. Refer to Conservation Tillage Usestable.

For maximum long term reduction apply from lateJuly to early September but before natural plantyellowing (senescence) occurs. Soursob shouldbe actively growing and not under stress ofdrought or waterlogging. If heavy frosting hasoccurred allow recovery before spraying. If heavygrazing has occurred allow recovery of foliage toat least 5cm before spraying. In ConservationTillage (eg. direct drilling) situations, application inMay-July immediately prior to sowing will givecontrol of top growth and give partial reduction ofplant numbers. Refer Conservation Tillage Usestable.

Apply to actively growing plants in the floweringto post-flowering, procumbent stem stage(generally Nov-May). Re-treatment, or oversowingwith improved pasture species may be necessaryto restrict seedling re-establishment.

7. AQUATIC WEED CONTROLSituation Weeds Rate Critical CommentsAQUATIC AREASFor the control of emerged weeds in allbodies of fresh and brackish waterwhich may be flowing, non-flowing ortransient. Also for weeds on margins ofstreams, lakes and dams and inchannels and drains

For specific rates of application refer tothe Aquatic Weeds Table below.

Reduction in effectiveness may result if more than 1/4 ofthe above ground portion of the weed is submerged attreatment. Submerging the treated plants followingtreatment may result in the spray being washed from theplant surface, thus reducing effectiveness.DO NOT apply this product within 0.5km up-stream ofpotable water intake in flowing water (ie river or stream, etc) or within 0.5km of a potable water intake in astanding body of water such as a lake, pond orreservoir. Applications to moving bodies of water shouldbe made while travelling upstream wherever possible toprevent concentration of this herbicide in water. Whenmaking any bankside applications, DO NOT overspraymore than 0.5m into open water. Avoid spraying acrossmoving bodies of water, or where weeds do not exist. When spraying floating weeds, use a low volume, lowpressure boom sprayer, CDA or sprinkler sprayer. DONOT submerge the weeds when spraying as this maywash the herbicide off the leaves. When emergedinfestations require treatment of the total surface area ofimpounded water, treating the area in strips may avoidsudden impact on habitat.

This product movesthrough the plant from the point of contact and intothe root system.Visible effects on annual weeds take 3-7 days, but onperennial weeds may not be obvious for 2-3 weeks orlonger in some cases. Visible effects of control maybe delayed by cool or cloudy weather at and followingtreatment. Visible effects are a gradual yellowing andwilting of the plant which advances to completebrowning of above ground growth and deterioration ofunderground plant parts.Delay application until vegetation has emerged to thestages described in the “Weeds Controlled” tables.Unemerged parts arising from attached undergroundrhizomes or root stocks of perennials will not beaffected by spray and will continue to grow. For thisreason best control of most perennial weeds isobtained at late growth stages approaching maturity.

CROP ESTABLISHMENTThis product is recommended for control of emergedweeds prior to crop establishment. Suitable cultivationand/or sowing operations are required to provideseedbed conditions satisfactory for crop germinationand development.Spraying early to control young weeds will favourpreparation of suitable seedbeds. On friable soils andwhere there is only light cover of young weeds, sowing may proceed satisfactorily from one day afterspraying. In situations of heavy weed growth sowing should bedelayed until weed decay and soil conditions allowformation of a satisfactory seedbed. Incorporation ofgreen or decaying vegetation and roots into seedbedby cultivation or sowing may cause retarded cropemergence, particularly in cold and/or wet conditions.Vegetation may be reduced by grazing, and weeddecay may be assisted by cultivation to leave trash onthe surface. In marginal seedbed conditions take careto achieve correct seeding depth, and avoid use ofpre-emergence herbicides where label directionsadvise risk of retarded crop emergence.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONSThis product mixes readily with water. Reduced results may occur if water containing soil isused, eg. water from ponds and unlined ditches, or ifhard water containing calcium salts is used.Ensure the spray tank is free of any residue ofprevious spray materials.Fill the spray tank with one half the required amountof clean water and add the proper amount of thisproduct. Mix well before adding the remaining portionof water. Placing the filling hose below the surface ofthe spray solution will prevent excessive foaming.Removing hose from tank immediately after filling willprevent back siphoning into water source. DO NOT

use mechanical agitators as these may causeexcessive foaming. For mixing instructions for tank mixes, see TankMixtures

APPLICATION INFORMATIONThis product is a non-selective translocated herbicide.Direct spray contact, or even slight drift, may causesevere injury or destruction of any growing crop orother desirable plants including trees. Clean allequipment after use by thoroughly washing withwater.

BOOM EQUIPMENTUse recommended rates of this product in 75 to 200litres of clean water per hectare. When using thisproduct at 500mL-1.5L/ha (eg. in conservation tillage)spray volumes in the range 25-100L/ha are preferred.Fan nozzle equipment is recommended, usingpressures in the range 240-280kPa. Boom heightmust be set to ensure double overlap of nozzlepatterns at the top of the weed canopy.

HIGH VOLUME APPLICATION (eg. Knapsack andHandgun Equipment)Adjust equipment to achieve an even spray pattern;for handgun equipment a D6 spray tip (SprayingSystems Australia P/L) or equivalent, and anoperating pressure of 400-700kPa are recommended.Apply to ensure complete and uniform wetting of allfoliage.

LOW VOLUME APPLICATION (eg. Gas Gun orSplatter Gun)Apply as an even spray to cover all foliage. Refer toWeeds Controlled for the dilution and volume ofmixture to be applied. The dilution is specific as “Lowvolume mixture, Product:Water”. For example, a 1:9mixture equals one part product plus 9 parts water.

WIPER EQUIPMENTWiper equipment (eg. ropewick, canvas, felt or carpetapplicators) may be used to apply this product on toweeds growing in oilseed crops, sugarcane, cotton, seed and pod vegetables and tree and vine cropsspecified in this label, and in pasture and non-cropareas. Avoid contact with desirable vegetation.Operate wiper equipment a minimum of 10cm abovethe crop or pasture. Weeds should be at least 15cmabove the crop or pasture at time of application.Speed of travel should be no greater than 8km/h.Best results are achieved at lower speeds and wheretwo applications are made in opposite directions(double pass). Where weeds are of variable height, oroccur in dense infestations or clumps, some plantsmay not be contacted by the herbicide solution. Inthese cases repeat treatment may be necessary. Mixonly enough herbicide solution for immediaterequirements. Do not store mixed solution for morethan a few days. Flush out equipment with water afteruse.

RATE: Mix 1 litre of this product with 2 litres cleanwater to prepare 33% solution. This product may beused according to the above directions forsuppression or control of many annual and perennialweeds. See Weeds Controlled tables for specificuse recommendations.

CONTROLLED DROPLET APPLICATIONEQUIPMENT (CDA)Use the following table as a guide for achievingcorrect application rates using the micron *Herbi orsimilar equipment. See Weeds Controlled tables forspecific rates and use recommendations.

For hand held equipment a walking speed ofapproximately 1m/sec. (4km/h) is recommended.

*Trade Mark of Micron Sprayers Ltd, UK.DO NOT add oils to Weedmaster® Duo/ watermixture, otherwise difficulty in application andreduced weed control may occur.CAUTION: CDA equipment produces a fine spraypattern which is not easily visible. Ensure that thespray pattern or drift does not contact foliage orany other green tissue of desirable plants, sincesevere injury or destruction may result.

AERIAL EQUIPMENTAerial equipment may be used to apply this productonly in pasture or fallow situations prior toestablishment of field crops, fodder crops, or newpasture, and for pre-harvest application to sorghumcrops. DO NOT use in intensive horticultural croppingareas. Use recommended rates specified in this labelup to a maximum limit of 4L/ha. When applying thisproduct by helicopter in combination with Associate®

for control of Blackberry in forestry and other specificsituations, the higher rate of Weedmaster® Duo maybe applied. Please refer to the Associate® label forspecific recommendations. For Micronair and boomequipment, apply in a minimum spray volume of atleast 20L/ha. Droplets with an average size (or VMD)of 250-350 micron diameter are recommended.Swath width should be 15-17m.Thoroughly wash aircraft especially landing gearafter each day of spraying to remove herbicideresidues.APPLICATION ON HILLY TERRAIN: As sprayingheight may vary, to maximise target contact, increasewater volume to 30-80L/ha and increase droplet sizeto at least 300 micron VMD.APPLICATION UNDER SUMMER CONDITIONS:High temperatures and/or low relative humidity causeexcessive evaporation of spray droplets which mayreduce results. increase water volume by at least 30L/ha, & increasedroplet size to at least 300 micron VMD. DO NOTapply this product by aircraft when temperature isabove 30˚C.Avoid Drift: DO NOT use when breeze is blowingtoward nearby desirable plants. DO NOT use withspraying equipment or under meteorologicalconditions which could be expected to cause spray todrift onto nearby susceptible plants, adjacent crops, crop lands or pastures. Equipment settings whichproduce fine droplets (150 microns or less), windsover 8km/h, inversion conditions, still air and hot drydays all contribute to drift.

APPLICATION CHECKLISTDO NOT treat weeds under poor growing or dormantconditions (such as occur in drought, waterlogging, disease, insect damage or following frosts) as reducedweed control may result. Reduced efficacy may alsooccur when treating weeds heavily covered with dustor silt. DO NOT add additional surfactant, or mix withany other agricultural chemicals, herbicide oils, or anyother materials except as specifically directed on thislabel. Rainfall occurring up to 6 hours after applicationmay reduce effectiveness. Heavy rainfall within 2hours after application may wash the chemical off thefoliage & a repeat treatment may be required. DONOT disturb treated weeds by cultivation, sowing orgrazing for one day after treatment of annual weedsand 7 days for perennial weeds, to ensure herbicideabsorption. A Withholding Period for grazing stock isnot required. However, it is recommended that grazingof treated plants be delayed (as recommended above)to ensure herbicide absorption. Certain plants suchas, Soursob, St John’s Wort & Bracken, may benaturally toxic to stock. Where known toxic plants arepresent, grazing should be delayed until completebrowning of treated plants has occurred. The additionof non-ionic surfactant is recommended at a rate of100mL of a 600g/l product (or equivalent) per 100Lspray solution. Delay treatment of plants wet with dewor rain if water droplets run-off when plants aredisturbed.

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE & USAGESpray solutions of this product should be mixed, stored & applied only in stainless steel, aluminium, brass, copper, fibreglass or plastic or plastic-linedcontainers. This product, or spray solutions of thisproduct, react with galvanised steel or unlined steel(except stainless steel) containers and tanks, toproduce hydrogen gas which may form a highlycombustible gas mixture. This gas mixture can flash orexplode if ignited by open flame spark, welder’s torchor other ignition source. Spray tank, pumps, lines &nozzles should be thoroughly rinsed with clean waterfollowing application to prevent extensive corrosion.Thoroughly wash aircraft, especially landing gear, aftereach day of spraying to remove herbicide residues.

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING
