Tips and Instructions
Getting Started• Provide a name, e-mail address and
password to create a free account• Use a sub domain @weebly.com so
that there is no charge – Choose one that makes sense for your business.
• Once you sign up there is a video to watch
• After watching the video, select tab – Build My Site.
Select Site to create a website
Theme
Choose a theme for the website
Domain Name
Choose a subdomain of Weebly.com because they are FREE. Use your business name.Note: there is an option to register a professional domain name for a fee
Toolbar1. Build – add text, titles, images, slideshow,
map, contact form, structure and media.2. Design – Format the page design. Colors,
themes and fonts3. Pages – Add Pages and change page
name and headers 4. Store – add a store page to sell products
and accept payment5. Settings – Change the site address and

Weebly Basics• One of the main features/things to know
about Weebly is that you drag the icon you want to add from the left hand (grey area) onto your webpage canvas.
• For example, lets say you want to add a TitleSteps…1. Click Build (along the top toolbar) and series
of icons will appear in grey along the left hand side of the page.
2. Drag the Title tile over to your webpage and it will drop onto the page.
3. Type your Title into this area of your webpage

Upload Photos• Located under the BUILD toolbar • Drag the image box onto your
webpage• Click on this image box• A green bar will appear to upload the
image from your computer• Click on that bar and find the file
where you have saved the picture in your computer files
Media (Build Tab)• Add HD video, audio, documents, and YouTube
videosSteps to upload YouTube video…1. Drag the YouTube icon where you would like it on
your page.2. Once it is on your page, click on it, and a box will
appear to paste the URL address of a YouTube video3. Find a video from YouTube and copy/paste this URL
link into this box4. Press Enter/Return5. Once you click away from this box, the video will
appear.The next slide displays a screen shot of these steps

Button• A Navigation Button directs the user to a particular
destination. • Buttons are located under Build - Structure• Locate the Button icon and drag onto your page• Give the Button a name for where the button will
link. For example, another webpage, homepage etc.• Get the website address and Copy/Paste the website
address • Once the site is published and viewed on the web, a
person can click it to go to the destination webpage.• Do not try to test your Buttons in the editor.

Saving, Undo, Publishing• Weebly automatically saves your work
• Weebly does not have an undo feature • It is the automatic save feature that is the culprit• In the case of text, you can often still press CONTROL-Z (PC) OR
COMMAND-Z(Mac) on your keyboard to undo what you have just done.• However, if you have deleted something, it’s deleted and you will have to redo
it.• Also, from time to time, Weebly can freeze or get stuck in a certain editing
option.• The best solution I have found is to simply exit the editor and return. Because
it automatically saves, you will still have all of your work, prior to that last step, when it froze.
• To view your website on the web, click Publish in the editor, then type your website URL into your address bar and click enter. Your website should appear and you can test your links. If it does not, make sure you have typed in the correct URL and or Published your work.
