MEDIA ENQUIRY FORM – Filming and Photography
We welcome applications to film/ take photographs at Milestones
Museum and Basing House (Hampshire Cultural Trust sites from 1 Nov
2014).
All project proposals will be assessed on an individual basis
and permission to film/take photographs at the HCT Sites is at the
sole discretion of HCT.
Factors HCT will take into account when assessing an application
include the projects: relevance to the museums, the impact projects
would have on the daily activities of the museums and the
availability of staff to supervise filming or photography.
We require the provision of risk assessments, insurance
documentation (PLI) and full details of the project proposal before
filming can be approved as well as any other requested information.
It is recommended that you do a recce of the relevant HCT site you
wish to visit in advance to discern if we can fulfil your
requirements.
Due to the volume of requests that Milestones Museum and Basing
House receives we reserve the right to decline permission for
filming/photography, to charge a fee or to restrict the length of
filming/photography or make the filming/photography subject to
other terms and conditions. Fees and timings will be discussed on a
case-by-case basis. Please note that we offer special rates for
Charities, College/ University student projects.
The HCT must be given appropriate credits and attribution when
films, photographs, documentaries, web clips etc are published.
Suitable wording will be agreed in advance.

Please provide a brief synopsis of your project.
Our documentary is about how Basingstoke was like during World
War I and how the town has developed. We researched your
facility and know that there are also other commemorations
about the World War and we would like to film some of the displays.
We haven't seen the exhibitions at Milestones but we have a plan of
what we would like to film as we think your museum best fits our
project.
Is this for commercial or non-commercial use (news,
documentary)
The filming will non-commercial and non-profitable as it is for
a college documentary project.
When and where will the project be broadcast/ published?

This is a unit in our Creative Media Production course which is
Factual Programming. Therefore it will be uploaded to YouTube and
our blogs (Weebly), for our teachers to mark and to be used in our
portfolios. (5th December)

We require access to the exhibition ‘A Soldiers Journey; From
Home to War.’ And any other exhibitions that relate to the World
War’s.
