Wall Street United Church Update: Online Worship

We will continue to offer the morning service online. Currently we send out a link to a recorded service on YouTube. On September 6

th we hope to begin our Live-Stream broadcast of the Sunday

morning service from the sanctuary. We encourage those who are elderly or who have underlying health conditions and who have access to the internet to continue to worship with us virtually. Details on how to tune in to this life-stream service will soon be available.

Face-to-Face Worship

Celebrate Life evening services have now begun and will be held weekly in the Gymnasium starting at 5:50 p.m. Celebrate Life services will be limited to 50 people.

The first face-to-face Sunday morning service re-gathering is scheduled to be held on September 13

th at 10:00 a.m. Each Sunday morning, we are limited to a congregation of 50. Due to this limitation a

place must be reserved. (Reservation details included in article above.) Priority will be given to those who are unable to access the worship service remotely. Masks must be worn inside the church unless you have a medical exception.

Three Phases of re-opening:

Phase I: Sunday morning and Celebrate Life worship services will be the only activity offered face-to-face. Our office manager, Cathie Kelso will be on site Wednesdays only until job demands dictate otherwise. Trevor Hutton, our custodian, has now resumed work. Please call Cathie at 613-342-5401 x 21 if you have a need to visit the church during the week as the doors will continue to be locked.

Phase II: Church meetings such as Bible Study, Meditation, Knitting Class etc. will be added with the approval of the activity leader. In addition, some recovery groups may be facilitated. Most of these would occur in the gym with seating limited to 50. All recovery groups would have to agree to abide by the restrictions required by the LG&L District Health Unit. Doors to the church will be unlocked for limited periods of time during restricted office hours.

Phase III: Additional AA groups would be welcomed. Some 50+ Activity Centre classes would start. Some smaller venue rentals could occur. The office will be open 5 days a week and the doors to the church will be open during office hours.

We have not established a timeframe for the duration of any phase. Only when there is a comfort level with the current phase would we move on to the next one. Sunday meals will remain as pickup only including on the Thanksgiving weekend.

Please address any concerns to Paul Bullock at 613-345-5553 or [email protected]. We do ask for your patience in these exceptional times.

Reservation Protocol for Morning Services Important Notice!

Because we are limited to 50 people in our congregation, a reservation system has to be adopted until

CoVid regulations are further relaxed. This will begin for the September 13th service.

Please call the church (613-342-5401 x 21) from Monday to Wednesday in the week prior to the service. Leave a message with your name and phone number. If you have email please register (Monday to Wednesday) at [email protected].

Please note that preference will be given to those without internet access to services. (Or for those we did not have room for the last week) We encourage those with internet to continue watching our virtual on-line service.

If interest is great we will consider adding a second morning service. Stay tuned for updates as they happen.

From Edith Molyneaux: I want to thank my church family and my many friends who have sent cards or made calls or have kept me in your prayers since my recent fall, surgery and during my recovery. I am also thankful for the friends in my building who are like angels watching out for me. Love & thanks to all! Edith.
