THE VILLAGE VOICES ARE COMING1313Put it on your calendar 1313First Presbyterian Church in Midwest City is hosting the Village Voices from the Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village Kansas (outside of Kansas City) They will be sharing their enthusiasm for the Lord with their voice through a program of amazing music over the weekend of June 4-6th Our first opportunity to hear them will be at a concert on the evening of Saturday June 5th at 700 pm This concert is open to the community so we encourage you your youth group your friends neighbors grandchildren and any others you think will enjoy the evening to come with you Following the concert there will be an ice cream social and who can resist that on a warm June evening1313On Sunday morning the Voices will be leading our worship prior to returning to Kansas We have been blessed to have them visit us before and many of you have talked about their amazing talent for the past several years We hope you will encourage each other as well as those in the community to attend either Saturday or Sunday or both opportunities I know that it will be a blessing and inspiration to all 1313Midwest Presbyterian Church13900 N Key Blvd13Midwest City OK13Phone (405) 732-76271313Pastor Sue Trei-Conrad13

Solar Under the Sun13HELP US LIGHT THE WORLD13Solar Under the Sun131313Solar Under the Sun a new ministry of the Synod of the Sun Presbyterian Church (USA) is designed to provide solar power to nonprofit groupsno matter where they might beto help them alleviate hardship while also becoming better stewards of Godrsquo green earth As Christians we can join together with those in need to share both the power of the sun and the grace of the risen Son13Solar Under the Sun is initially working in partnership with the Synod of Living Waters to augment the Living Waters for the World (LWW) program LWW constructs simple but effective water treatment facilities Most of these facilities however get their electricity from gasoline powered generators The ability to operate for even a few hours a day on solar-produced electricity saves money on fuel and protects against shortages This also spreads the use of clean renewable poweran outreach in and of itself1313Our initial focus is threefold13131048698 ~ Provide training in partnership development spiritual education and solar power installation operation and maintenance13131048698 ~ Offer direction in obtaining materials and supplies at cost when available and using in-country supplies whenever possible13131048698 ~ Establish relationships among those in need of electrical power the Synods of the Sun and Living Waters other PC(USA) and ecumenical mission efforts those experienced in the uses of solar power and individuals and organizations that feel called to this ministry1313Eventually Solar Under the Sun will also help provide electricity for everything from remote schools and health clinics to irrigation pumps to cell phones for reliable communication1313
