April 21 in the former school building to discuss "When God is Silent: Finding Spiritual Peace Amid

Divine Mercy

The Annual Divine Mercy Day is on April 8th at Holy Family Parish from 2-4pm. Come worship God with

exposition of the Eucharist, readings from St. Fausti-na’s Diary, and a chanted Divine Mercy Chapel.

Confessions offered for the full 2 hours.

Thank You Thank you to the choir, altar servers, readers, those

who assisted in decorating the church, and everyone else for all your hard work during Holy

Week. Your dedication and service are greatly appreciated.

Fr. Greer’s Assignment Bishop Monforton has announced that upon the up-

coming retirement this summer of the Diocese’s long-serving Chancellor, Linda Nichols, he has appointed Father Bradley Greer to serve as the Chancellor of

the Diocese of Steubenville, effective July 27th of this year. Father Greer will continue in his assignments

as Parochial Vicar here at St. Peter and as the Bishop’s Master of Ceremonies, as well.

Come Celebrate Fr. Huffman! Come celebrate our pastor’s 25th year of priesthood! Father Huffman will cele-

brate 25 years of Priesthood with a Solemn Mass of Thanksgiving on Sunday, April 15 at 3 p.m. A light reception will follow in the church hall. All are invited!

Bus Trip to Amish Country This trip will visit Berlin, Oh on April 14th. Meet at

Block Party The third annual Hilltop Communities Block Party, originally scheduled for April 7, will now be held on

Saturday, April 21, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Tow-er of Power Church parking lot, 1310 Maryland Ave-

nue, in Steubenville. Open to all who live in the hilltop communities, the day will feature face painting, a

cookout, snow cones, music, football, Frisbee, and other activities. All are welcome!

Talk on Popes, Communism

Dr. Paul Kengor, author and professor of political sci-ence at Grove City College, will discuss the often-

overlooked role the Catholic Church played in defeat-ing communism at 7:30 p.m. on April 25. His lecture, “How the Catholic Church Confronted and Defeated Communism: From Pius XI to John Paul II,” will be

held in the Tony and Nina Gentile Gallery in the J.C. Williams Center at Franciscan University. It is free

and open to the public.

Christ, My Hope, Is Risen! In celebration of Eastertide, Franciscan University of Steubenville’s Schola Cantorum Franciscana will per-form Christ, My Hope, Is Risen! with the Pittsburgh-

based Academy Chamber Orchestra. The concert will take place Friday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ the King Chapel. Directed by Nicholas Will. This concert

is sponsored by Franciscan University’s Fine Arts Society, and is free and open to the public.

Performance at FUS Franciscan University will travel back in time to Sa-

lem, Massachusetts, 1692, with a performance of The Crucible by Arthur Miller. The Crucible is a modern

tragedy based on the actual witch trials of 1692, and is directed by Dr. Monica Anderson, chair of the Fine

Arts Department.
