Their Story - As the sun set over Lake Keowee, two Furman grads, Grady Anthony & Rachel Law tied the knot on October 17th, 2015. The intimate service by the lake transitioned to a lovely dinner in the Cliffs Lakehouse followed by dancing under the stars. The clear top tent lined with 2,000 mini lights helped set the mood for a fun filled evening.

The band, Bobby & The Aristocats, set the tone early with the couples 1st dance, “Come and get your love”. The couple blended the natural beauty of the venue with their own personal flare. Rachel was the driving force behind a delicious French Cronut Tower (a French donut) in lieu of the traditional wedding cake. The bridesmaids wore different color dresses and the color scheme was brought together with wine, aubergine and white bouquets. Berbank Events assisted the couple with developing the exact look & feel for the event. The team provided the décor, rentals, and event coordinating. The Cliffs staff at the Lakehouse were amazing and helped bring everything together the day of. The beauty of the venue combined with the love of the family & guests is what created a day they will not soon forget.

In Her Words - I caught my first glance of Alex in an unlikely place, a dating profile. Anyone who knows me will tell you I was skeptical about online dating, and I was ready to delete my account when I ran across Alex’s profile. A picture with a Clemson baseball cap and his impeccable grammar caught my attention. I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and send him a message. Little did I know where this one message would lead. Alex and I connected instantly on our first date and quickly became inseparable. Alex proposed to me on January 18th amid a sea of twinkle lights with our family and closest friends watching. Our November 22nd wedding day was everything we wanted it to be—personal and romantic. Writing our own vows made our ceremony so much more meaningful. I enjoyed creating many of the items for the day, including our programs and invitations. Spending time and effort on the little details was truly worth it and made our day us. An appearance from the Clemson Tiger sealed the night! Alex and I were so pleased with our vendors. We searched for people who were known not only for their quality, but who were also personable. Working with people that we enjoyed meeting with made our planning process enjoyable. Everything from abundance of fresh flowers to the amazing photos far exceeded our expectations!

Their Story - The Bride and Groom both attended Clemson, but Zach attended Law School at the University of Louisiana so they now live in Baton Rouge. They wanted their wedding to be convenient for the families yet incorporate elements of their Louisiana life, which they were able to achieve both by choosing the Spartanburg Marriott.Special Elements-The flavors of Louisiana was present in the food and décor. Their Story: How they met-Jordan and Lee met their freshman year in college. Lee was a saxophone performance major and Jordan was an education major. It was a chance thing they met, but as fate would have it, they met and instantly knew there was something very special between them. As Jordan and Lee finished college, they knew one day they would be married.

Jordan left that summer to be a lifeguard and counselor at a camp several hours away. Lee would come to visit so it was not unusual that he called and told Jordan he was coming to see her for the weekend. He told her he planned a photo shoot for them and was bringing a new dress for her to wear in it. Jordan was very excited. Lee arrived; they ate and got ready for the shoot. They went all around the camp taking photos. Toward the end they got into a canoe and Lee rowed them toward a dock in the middle of the lake. It was decorated with mason jars with tea lights. When they got to the dock, they were dancing around enjoying the beauty of the setting. That was when Lee got down on one knee and proposed to Jordan. Jordan was excited and surprised. Lee and Jordan’s friends had planned everything out, from the photo shoot to the dinner.

The Wedding and Reception: Jordan and Lee found Hampton Road Farms online and were instantly impressed with it. The place was so beautiful and had everything that a rustic wedding venue would need. When Jordan and Lee met Jerry and Jody, the owners of Hampton Road Farms, they knew that it was the place they wanted to get married. Jerry and Jody were very open to everything Jordan and Lee wanted in their wedding. Jordan wanted to ride down the driveway on her horse and Jerry and Jody were ecstatic about the idea. Jordan and Lee decided to have their wedding ceremony under the trees by the pond and the reception in the barn. Jerry and Jody were available for any questions that came up and were always willing to help with whatever was needed. When the couple decided they wanted a tent, Jerry took care of securing it. Jordan was able to use the venue for her bridal portraits and was even escorted around the venue with her photographer so they could catch all the light needed for the shots. Jerry and Jody were available to help throughout the entire wedding day, making sure every detail was perfect.

Jordan and Lee could not have asked for a better place to have their wedding and reception.

Evergreen Plantation

Evergreen plantation is a family owned farm with all the Southern charm one would expect to find in 190 year old plantation, circa 1823.

The Faulkenberry family restored the Antebellum Home in the late 1990s with hopes to finish the house by the wedding of their daughter. Their dream came true when the reception of their daughter was the first of many events held on this beautiful property.

Through the years, they have lovingly restored many buildings on the farm and constructed the Lodge at Evergreen. The Lodge is a 10,000 square-foot facility including a commercial kitchen, towering fireplace, and a complete sound system.

The lodge at Evergreen is a perfect setting for your wedding and any other events in your future.

Their Story - Hunter and Kristen met while teaching school in Pickens County. It only took a year for them to know this was “the real deal”. The look of their wedding events was classy/rustic. This was inspired by their love of riding their horses. Hunter organized most of the details and enjoyed working with Evergreen Plantation. They were a joy to work with and the Plantation with the Party Barn, the lakes and grounds is just a beautiful setting.

The Hollow at Paris Mountain is located on 30 acres at the foothills of Paris Mountain. Only 10 minutes from downtown Greenville.

The owner's of The Hollow at Paris Mountain daughter got engaged in January 2013 and announced she wanted to get married at our home. We wanted to build an outdoor pavilion so construction began. She was married on September 21, 2013. Our second wedding was one week later.

A friend of our daughter was looking for a venue and stopped in during construction. She said yes! We had such a mess due to the weather and she still said yes! So we had the first two weddings in two weeks the first of which was our daughter’s.

Construction continued, the cedar was handpicked, sanded and stained. We had many friends and family helping us with this project. We would like to say thanks to all who were involved in making the September 21st deadline. As the workers were busy with all the last minute details we were listening to the radio and the Earth Wind and Fire song played with the lyrics, “Do you remember the 21st night of September?” Work was completed! Everyone had such a blast!

We decided then that we would love to share such a beautiful space with others. So whether it's a "sweet sixteen" celebration, retirement party, reunion, corporate event, or a wedding we would be happy to accommodate.

Blake and Courtney met at a Jason Aldean concert that took place at the BI-LO center on January 22, 2010. Courtney had just moved back to her hometown from living and working in NYC for 3 years. After grad school in Nashville, Blake, a Greenwood native, took an engineering job in Greenville to be closer to his family. Blake was sneaking over the rail to be in what is called “the pit” or better known as front row of the concert, when Courtney caught him and threatened to call security on him. They still frequent country concerts, and haven’t left each other’s side since!

Courtney grew up visiting and loving Charleston, and Blake received his undergraduate degree from The Citadel. After five years of dating, they were engaged in the lovely historic city by a lighthouse on the coast.

The ceremony was held at 4pm at the Rock Quarry Garden at 200 McDaniel Avenue and the reception took place at the Southern Tide 500 Club at Fluor Field, where the Green-ville Drive baseball team plays!

The ring bearer was their bulldog, Tank. It was fitting that Blake and Courtney’s first dance was to a Jason Aldean song. Their cake was made in New York by a very dear friend who flew on the plane with the cake and finished it when she arrived! Courtney’s mother surprised the couple with fireworks as they entered the reception and also later when they were cutting the cake! The night was capped off with sparklers and Krispy Kreme doughnuts!

The couple resides in Simpsonville, SC with their 6 year old bulldog, Tank.

Their Story - Katie and Bobby met in Charleston, South Carolina in the spring of 2009. They quickly fell head over heels for one another. Five and a half years later, they exchanged wedding vows at The Oaks Wedding Venue, in Anderson, South Carolina. The couple wanted to incorporate the traditional church ceremony to The Oaks by using church pews, church doors and windows. The couple said, “I Do!” amongst their closest family and friends between the tree lined grove. Following, the guests enjoyed appetizers on the patio before being seated in the larger room for dinner and dancing. They fellowshipped and celebrated the beautiful couple amidst creamy neutrals and bountiful flower arrangements. The newly wedding couple exited the venue through a tunnel of sparklers and made their grand getaway in a white limousine. The couple resides in Greenville, South Carolina.

Their Story - Keaton and I met at Palmetto Bible Camp (PBC) in Marietta, SC in July of 2012 and started dating exactly one year later when PBC brought us back together that next summer. For the first few months of our relationship, we were long-distance and would drive between Anderson, SC and Lexington, KY every weekend (that’s a 6 hour drive each way!) to see each other. Keaton made the move to South Carolina at the end of December and we were engaged in May. We spent the next year preparing to spend the rest of our lives together and planning our perfect day at The Bleckley Inn, surrounded by our family and friends. We were both full of butterflies and nerves as we got ready, but as soon as the gate opened and I saw him standing at the end of the aisle, that all melted away and I just felt calm and excited to marry my best friend. Their Story: It was a warm afternoon, and summer was drawing to an end. We were both in our hometown of Columbia, SC visiting with friends when we met. Our connection was obvious as we spoke our first words to each other. We spent the evening deep in conversation discovering all that we had in common. Some time would pass before our first date, and it was worth the wait. We lived in two different cities for the first year of dating before Stacy decided to move to Greenville, SC. Fast forward several years to April 4, 2014, Kevin proposed after a wonderful date night at our favorite restaurant in Greenville.

The date of our engagement quickly became the same date we would wed in the next year. The wedding planning was simple for us. We wanted the event to be intimate with close friends and family. The invitations, the decora-tions, and the planning were done by the Bride and Groom. The venue was carefully chosen in our hometown at the River Road and Jasmine Houses near Lake Murray where Kevin grew up. The beautiful southern venue was a perfect match to our personalities. The venue allowed for indoor/outdoor festivities. We chose a band to perform at our wedding that we discovered at a local blues restaurant in Greenville. The night was filled with every wedding memory a Bride and Groom could ask for.

During the engagement, we began to pursue the purchase of our first home together. Ultimately we were in agreement of what type of home we were looking to purchase for our family. We needed someone to help guide us through the process. We got in contact with Brian and painted a picture of what we were looking for. Within a short period of time, and several house tours later, the home of our dreams was put on the market. Brian was able to schedule a showing immediately, which allowed us to place an offer. This gave us an advantage over the other offers that quickly came in for the home. Our offer was accepted, and Brian O'Neill of the O'Neill Team guided us through a smooth and painless closing process. We closed on the house one month after our wedding. We couldn’t be happier with the entire experience.

Their Story - The couple went to high school together and had some classes together. There was some playful flirting but nothing serious until they happened to get together in Myrtle Beach some years later. Travis and Chelsea attended the opening game of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans baseball team. Chelsea knew it was “Game Over” at that point. She knew one day he would be her husband. That was April 8, 2011. They started dating on September 4, 2011. On December 25, 2013 Travis proposed and the couple was married on January 3, 2015.

On a wedding day, there are two important things that the photographer must capture, the couple and the details. When the photographer gets married, the task becomes difficult because she plans for the details, she plans for the photographs. As the photography and videography team behind Southern Jewel Photography, we realized this very quickly! After Charlie proposed in January of 2015 everyone said, “Oh it will be so easy for you to plan because you’re in the wedding industry.” And while that statement was mostly right, being in the wedding industry also made it extremely difficult to plan. Having photographed more than one hundred weddings, the details swirl in your mind; things you liked, things you loved, and things that you said absolutely not to do. When it came time to choose details, I was lost. There had to be depth and contrast and different heights and colors, but where to start? We decided to create a rustic elegant celebration with plum, green and gold. We hired B & R Events right away to bring our vision together. We knew the right team of wedding vendors could transform any venue into our vision. B & R Events worked with Jumping Jukebox to create the perfect lighting design casting deep purple images of tree branches and leaves in the ballroom at Thornblade Club. Charlie and I worked with Renee Burroughs Designs for our colorful autumnal floral and decor. Renee nailed it by using a wooden arbor draped with ivory chiffon, five foot iron tree and lantern centerpieces accented with wood and bird figurines, and cotton branches. As a photography and videography team, we loved the details and depth our vendors created to bring our vision to life. We started early at Thornblade with hair and makeup by the talented team from Cotton Rouge & Company. The attire went perfectly with the beautiful fall background. The men wore brown tuxedos from Thomas and Sons and the bridesmaids wore plum lace and chiffon dresses from David’s Bridal. Dimitra Designs helped me find my dress, a beautiful lace creation by Stella York, which I paired with crystal chandelier earrings. Irina with Boutique of Dreams in Simpsonville altered my dress to fit like a glove and made a perfect bustle for us to dance the night away. I found my stunning crystal belt and lovely lace veil on Etsy. Charlie and I chose the wedding version of “Never Stop” by Safety Suit for our first dance and brought everyone to tears with my father daughter dance to “Daddy Dance with Me” by Krystal Keith followed by a family dance with our children, Henry and Sunny, to “Let them be Little” by Lonestar. Guests enjoyed a plated dinner and magnificent cake created by Holly’s Cakes. Guests danced the night away to music provided by Jumping Jukebox and captured fun memories in Southern Jewel Photography’s photo booth. As the night came to a close, we really were having the time of our lives so it was only appropriate to end the night to the classic song by Bill Medley “I’ve had the Time of My Life.” As photographers, we knew we wanted to do something different for our formal exit. We see sparklers and bubbles every weekend! After a little searching, we found fun hand rolled streamers on Etsy. As we ran through, our guests showered us with gold and purple, making for the perfect unique exit as we headed out to start our new lives as husband and wife!

Their Story - Abbie and Taylor met while finishing their undergraduate studies at Presbyterian College. To use film terminology (a shared interest between them) it was quite a lucky “cute meet”. Though it took a little while for their feelings to be known to each other, eventually the time was right and a first date was planned. From that first date onward, Abbie and Taylor never looked backed.

Special Moments-The ceremony was performed by Taylor’s father David Dement. The ceremony used was the same one Abbie’s grandfather used to perform as a minister. The Barn at Forevermore Farm was a spectacular venue as the Wagner’s’ have lovingly restored it and it is home to many weddings and events each year.

KEN AND AUBREY met while both at The University of South Carolina. They had mutual friends and Aubrey was a part of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority with both of Ken's sisters. Ken always had a crush on Aubrey, but Ken was gradating as Aubrey was just beginning school. Ken and Aubrey only saw each other a couple of times during the next two and a half years, but it wasn't until Ken's sister's wedding February, 2013 that they hit it off. Aubrey entered the church and Ken took her arm and ushered her to a seat. They danced at the reception. Ken had people ask him if he and Aubrey were together, their chemistry was so strong and evident to all that witnessed. Ken and Aubrey quickly fell in love and Ken proposed downtown on the Liberty Bridge,February 22, 2014, a year and 20 days since it had all began. Their love and excitement for each other radiates and was truly captured on their wedding day. Aubrey was raised at Brookwood Church in Simpsonville, so that is where the ceremony and vows were held. They then were driven in a Gamecock Garnet vintage car to the reception and it sat parked in the circle drive of the home under Italian String Lights.

Their Story. . . . and so it all began one wonderful evening during a convention in Orlando. I had just started a new job, and it was my first convention with the company. On the agenda the first night, a TEAM dinner. Soooooo there was about eight or so of us sitting here at this long farmhouse table (remember team work dinner) and one of the reps announced she invited a customer to join us. I'm thinking in my head, who invites a customer to a TEAM work dinner . . . . wellllllllll, can I just say how HAPPY I am that she invited the customer, because guess who comes sache'ing into our team dinner . . . WES BRADSHAW! :) . . . and so the love story of Jodi and Wes was set in motion . . .

Throughout the last few years, I have had such a fun time building a friendship and relationship with Wes . . . from flirting with each other at the different conventions, to him watching me move across the country from California to Florida, to saying lots and lots of prayers for his father and niece, to my first "love" notes he slipped under my hotel room door . . . there was and still is a special connection we share . . . a precious gift from God that I will always be so thankful to Him for giving us.

It truly is a great day when we get to not only do what we love, but get to work with some great people too! Nick and Melinda are so much fun and are such a perfect couple. We love this #sjcouple so much and we are so happy to be able to share their wedding day photos! From bumping into them at Greenville Drive baseball games to watching Bring It On during Melinda’s bridal prep (yes that actually happened) they are so much fun!

We arrived at Nick and Melinda’s house and met the girls there to get their hair and make up ready with the wonderful ladies of Cotton Rouge. Hanging around the house, watching movies, and having some pretty hilarious conversations too! Then it was off to the Gassaway Mansion in Greenville, SC to get Melinda in her dress and get some groom shots too. The details at this wedding were amazing!!! The flowers, the decorations, the little details that make a wedding truly spectacular were everywhere.

The ceremony took place on the front steps of the mansion and they could not have picked a better spot. There aren’t even words for how gorgeous a venue the Gassaway Mansion is and when you have a cute couple standing up there getting married, it’s even better! Even when Siri decided to interrupt the ceremony, Melinda laughed and smiled as she had been all day, and with some vows and a kiss, they were wed.

Dancing and fun into the night with great food and lots of good toasts too, this wedding was a great one! Congrats to the amazing #sjbride and #sjgroom and we can’t wait to be back at the Gassaway Mansion very soon!

Their Story - The Bride, Dr. Khyati Baxi is the beloved daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Haresh and Meera Baxi of Greer, SC. The Groom, Dr. Jatin Roper is the treasured son of Mr. and Mrs. Narendar and Mohini Roper of Dumfries, VA. The couple met serendipitously online. The bride and groom share the uniqueness of their Indian culture and traditions. Religious ceremonies commenced two days prior to the marriage and included a night of classical Indian music and folk dancing in Vedic Center in Mauldin, SC. The wedding and reception were held on December 5, 2015 in the Greenville Marriott.

Their Story -Scott and I met on Lake Bowen back in Junior High. After High School, Scott had a boat and I lived on the lake. Scott came by the house while I was swimming with some friends and I asked him to teach me to wakeboard and it all started there. Since then, we have loved the lake so much; we are building our dream home on Lake Bowen.Our ceremony was set for September 2015, however, my grandmother became ill and the outlook was not good. We called all of our vendors and explained the situation. Everyone could not have been more helpful and we set the date for June 27, 2015. My grandmother was able to be a part of our wedding, but unfortunately lost her battle with cancer of September 16 of 2015.Unique aspects of the wedding- It was planned in 5 weeks. The Father/Daughter dance was unique because my Dad recorded “Butterfly Kisses” for our song. He used to sing this to me when I was a baby. My husband built the arch we placed on the stairs in the outdoor gardens from pallets and my Mom placed all the decorations on it. For our unity, we got a family Bible from my grandmother and each set of parents signed it around a verse that they committed to pray over us and our marriage. Scott and I also picked a verse to sign as our commitment to pray for one another.Our parents surprised us at the end of our wedding video; they all had recorded something for us to watch that told us how proud they were and giving their best wishes and prayers.Instead of signing a guest book, we had our guests sign a wooden chair we got from Unclaimed Furniture (our family business) and it’s now something we get to see every day and not something we just threw in the attic.
