About Banyan SuiteThe Banyan Suites have one bedroom with king or single beds, a mezzanine ‘treetops lounge’, a large north facing deck
overlooking the Kentia Palms and Banyan Trees. Louvre windows allow guests to make adjustments to catch the Pacific

ElopementIf you are having an elopement on the night of your
wedding we will organize for a private 3 course dinner
in your room including a wedding desert
CapacityArajilla Retreat restaurant can seat a maximum of
30 people or up to 60 guests for a cocktail style
reception.
Sole UseWedding parties must take sole use of Arajilla
Retreat’s restaurant and accommodation for a
minimum of three nights. During peak times the
minimum stay may be increased.
There is a $1000 room hire fee for all room set up’s
for reception.
Booking PolicyUpon confirmation of booking a deposit of one night’s
accommodation of the whole retreat is required within
seven days and final payment due 60 days prior
to arrival. Deposit is non-refundable. If the event
is cancelled six months in advance the deposit is
transferable to be used within six months.
A minimum of three night’s sole use of Arajilla must be
taken. We do not host casual or external functions.
CelebrantLittle Speck of Blue will liaise with you in regards to a
wedding ceremony location, the cost of the fee is paid
directly to Little Speck of Blue
ExtrasTraditional wedding cakes cannot be made at
Arajilla or on the island. We suggest you make your
own arrangements for a cake. We will assist you
organising freight to the island with Australian Air
Express. There is an additional cost.
There are limited flowers on the island. Bouquets and
any table arrangements or decorations will need to be
ordered from the mainland and freighted over.
We will assist you with information and bookings on
all requirements such as celebrant, ceremony options
and transport.
MenusMenus are subject to seasonal availability. Special
dietary requirements will be catered for with advance
notice.
Arajilla is a licensed premises and all alcohol consumed
must be purchased from the Arajilla Retreat. All
beverages for a wedding function are charged on
consumption at our current wine menu prices.
Limited quantities of special wine for toasts etc. may
be permitted by special arrangement. A $10 corkage
fee applies per person. Liquor licensing requires the
bar closes at 12 midnight.

In Australia you are required to lodge a ‘Notice of Intention to Marry’ form with your celebrant at least one month and
one day prior to the ceremony. Australian guests must have their ‘Notice of Intention to Marry’ form witnessed by a
Justice of the Peace. Overseas guests must have their ‘Notice of Intention to Marry’ form witnessed by an Australian
Embassy of Consular Official or a ‘Notary Public’. The ‘Notice of Intention to Marry’ form is valid for 18 months. Fax or
send birth certificates/decree absolute/passports ahead with your ‘Notice of Intention to Marry’ form but also bring
originals to be sighted.
If the marriage is required within the stipulated one month and one day, permission must be gained from the
Australian Federal Court to allow the wedding to proceed. The Marriage Act is a Federal Act and permission for special
consideration may be lodged at a Registry Office or Court House. Fees apply.
The Australian Federal Court may waiver conditionality should the following circumstances apply:
All under age persons (18 years) must obtain Federal Court permission to marry, preferably along with parental
consent.
Divorced persons may lodge a ‘Notice of Intention to Marry’ 31 days after their divorce is deemed absolute. Divorce
documentation must be provided to the wedding celebrant upon application.
Some couples from European countries (mainly Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium and Scandinavia) who marry in
Australia, are required to present an official wedding document upon returning to their home country. This information
is then registered as legal documentation.
