Good vows, like a good story, have a beginning, middle, and end. An outline for your vows might look something like:

    F I N A L T I P S B E F O R E T H E B I G D AY

Edit and Rewrite: Write multiple draftsDon’t expect perfection on the first draft, or even the fifth. Give yourself plenty of time to write and edit your vows.

Practice: Read your vows out loudTry practicing in front of close friends, family, or a mirror. Once you perfect your delivery, you will be as confident as possible and ready for your big day. When it’s time, look your partner in the eyes and speak from your heart.

Be prepared: Have Multiple CopiesHave a copy of your vows in your pocket and also give one to your Best Man or Maid of Honor, just in case you misplace yours.

When did you know they were the one?

How do you see your future together?

What do you miss most about them when they’re gone?

    Other thoughts:

Begin with some background details on

how you met or when you knew you were in love.

    1

Declare Your Love. Tell your partner how much you love them,

how they have changed your life, and why they are important to you. Use this time to talk about what makes

    your relationship unique.

    2

End with what you’re looking forward to most and promises for

your future. Traditionally, this is when brides and grooms promise to “love, honor, and cherish” one another, but

this is where you can get creative and include your own promises.
