Her favourite weddingLast year we had a wedding abroad in
Santorini which was an exciting challenge. All the food was sourced locally, so we
visited the site beforehand to make contacts with local suppliers. Then we flew out our staff and china and built
our own kitchen out there. It was such a phenomenal week!

Off the wallnot every budget will cater for a whole wall of flowers, but there are ways to pack petal pretty into your day on a smaller scale. Consider showcasing your blooms in hanging picture frames, or displaying individual flower heads from a net or wall. For a statement backdrop which suits close-up portraits, ask your florist to create a tall narrow display, like the one pictured right.

1. Design your speech before you write it!A great wedding speech needs structure. Before you write a script, consider possible key points youd like to include three is plenty. These could be three qualities of your soon-to-be spouse, three chapters in his/her life or perhaps three categories of people youd like to thank.2. Make a point, tell a storyFor each point youve identified in step one, ask: How do i know thats true? in other words, what story could you tell to illustrate your point? The best stories will likely be personal, though they dont have to be.3. Have a conversation, dont memoriseUnless youre a trained actor, trying to memorise a script puts you under huge pressure. By keeping your structure simple (make a point, tell a story, remember?), youll come across as much more natural and conversational. 4. Remember to breatheWe call it getting nervous
the beating heart, the sweats, the mind going blank. in fact, theyre symptoms of adrenaline, and youre allowed to experience them. To help settle the adrenaline, centre yourself before your speech by tipping your chin down (to straighten up your airway), relax your shoulders and take a few slow deep breaths.5. identify options for your neutral stanceWhen speaking, how will you physically stand? Few speakers give this any thought. The result is they fidget and faff, stare at the floor and cross their arms. Think about how youll stand when youre not doing anything: weight balanced, hands by your sides or gently clasped in front of you, just above your waistline. dont cross your arms! Being open and neutral may feel weird but itll help you project composure, even if you dont feel composed! Oh, and water doesnt help with dry mouth you need something sweet. Try a sugar lump in your tea or coffee

Two brides share their thoughts on super-sizing the grooms
party, or sticking with tradition and opting for just one wingman
No! Says fashion editor Sarah When it came to planning our forthcoming wedding and making a decision regarding the best man, my fianc Tom didnt even need to think about it. His brother Will was the perfect candidate! And as a bride, I think Ive always
personally known it would only be Will standing next to Tom at the end of the aisle. Hes been there for Tom for the last 25 years, and they really bring out the best in each other. Theyve got the same sense of humour and theyre on the same wavelength as well as being totally there for each other with all the big stuff too. Tom does have some really close friends from school and theyve all grown up together in the same area, but were having quite a traditional wedding and we knew we wanted to keep it simple and straightforward so it didnt even cross his mind to have more than one best man. We also both felt it would be more special to have just one, as the title itself suggests a solo role and it feels as though its importance would be diminished slightly if two or more were to take it on. Also, trying to split the best mans speech two or three ways didnt appeal it might end up being a bit stop-and-star t with not much fluidity. I witnessed this at a friends wedding once, and it just didnt work very well. I know Will is more than capable of handling the role on his own, and he was absolutely chuffed to be asked. Hell be great at keeping Tom relaxed in the build up to the big day and because they know each other so well he knows exactly what Tom wants for his stag do. if he does need a bit of help or support with stuff like organising the stag, writing the speech or on the day itself, hell have four ushers who can help weigh in!

Yes! Says creative director ShannonWhen my husband Paul and i got married he had three best men he would have had four but one of them couldnt make it! Theres quite a lot of pressure put on the best man on a wedding day, not just regarding the duties but the speech
too, so I think on the day they were all relieved to share centre stage and do a joint speech/comedy routine. Plus, our wedding was in the US, so with everyone suffering from jet lag after the flight,
it was good to have a lot more pairs of eyes on the ball so that it never once got dropped! Paul had a stag night and all of his best men did their part in making it a night to remember (or not, as the case may be) other than that, when it came to the best man duties in the run up and on the day itself, I can see why it could have been a case of too many cooks, but actually everything fell into place nicely. i think it helps that we both grew up in big families so there has never been too much precise order and organisation to our everyday lives. Everyone has just always instinctively been where they need to be for each other, doing whats needed to be done at the right time. Thats the chaotic beauty of large families, and i guess larger wedding parties too. We never considered trying to make the group smaller, in fact, we threw out the idea of just running to the courthouse to do it the easy
way; we knew our wedding day had to be big because of the sizes of both of our families. Our family and friends were really supportive
of all our choices, and they never tried to get us to make it smaller because, like us, they wouldnt have wanted it any other way. To us, our wedding day was all about strength in numbers and having great support from our wonderful friends and family. W

Big, statement blooms are given an edge with vibrant colour palettes. Think of a classic dutch Masters style, made modern with graphic, illustrated and hand-painted designs in bright combinations.Trend tip: Wooden wedding invitations printed on very thin sheets of wood are perfect for a rustic-style wedding and will get guests talking from the very moment they open the envelope.
Up in the airIf youre passionate about flowers and are looking for something a little bit different,
hanging floral dcor is the way forward. A dramatic and breathtaking focal point for any ceremony or reception space, guests will be blown away from the moment they enter the room. if youre using long tables, consider hanging floral chandeliers overhead, its the perfect way to bring stylish florals into your dcor without disturbing the conversation.Trend tip: Bold blooms are adorning ceremony arches everywhere. Similar to the traditional church entrance floral arches, these are a great way to add extra impact to an indoor or outdoor ceremony space.

Rebecca and Frans perfectly styled big day was filled with sophisticated sparkle
The inspiration... We wanted the look to be glamorous and romantic, with plenty of sparkle for the evening party! Although we loved the idea of a countryside wedding, many of our guests came from outside the UK and were keen to visit London. We were thrilled to find Fulham Palace, with its huge lawns it makes you feel like youre miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The style... Id always had a clear vision for my dress: strapless with a full tulle skirt that
was classic and pretty a gown I would still love 30 years down the line. I finally found the style I wanted during a Christmas break in new York with friends. I wore it with a diamond necklace Frans had given me the night before, my mothers veil and a pair of pink Valentino shoes. Id always imagined Frans wearing a white tuxedo jacket and I thought he looked seriously handsome on the day. My maids paired their sparkly dresses with posies of peonies, roses, sweet peas, dahlias and zinnias wrapped in gold sequins. The details... The chair-backs were my favourite detail; covered in blowsy flora and ribbons, and we had a floral chandelier as the focal point. We even dropped floating peony heads into the fountain outside. The inside of the marquee smelled like a garden
and looked so beautiful! Afterwards we donated all the flowers to charity organisation, Floral Angels (floralangels.com). Our tables
were dressed in white and pink linens with gold sequin runners, and our top table showcased our personalised crest. The table numbers were paintings of places we had visited together and we now have them hanging on our living room wall. The tables also featured gold cutlery, napkins embossed with our crest and vintage champagne flutes. For our out-of-town guests, we had cute welcome bags filled with cookies, bottles of strawberry-infused gin and English tonic. W

My favourite moment... i loved walking into our cocktail reception with Frans, as all of our friends and family toasted to us as husband and
wife for the first time. Our first dance was also really special. We chose an acoustic version of Jack Johnsons I Got You. We didnt rehearse anything we just spun around a lot! But it felt like we were the only two people in
the room.My tip for brides-to-be... do your research when it comes to hiring vendors i spent a lot of time browsing UK wedding blogs, magazines and photographers websites to see their work. Hiring professionals that you
trust will give you a sense of calm on the big day.

Olivia and Sam chose classic English elegance for their alfresco celebration in France
The inspiration... We wanted an alfresco day filled with beautiful flowers, and held our humanist ceremony in Sams parents garden in the south of France a place where we had spent many wonderful holidays as a family.
