PAY M E N T P O L I C Y

Deposit Policy

A deposit of USD$100 is required to confirm the First Come Love Wedding Package or the Pure Passion Vow Renewal Package; a deposit of UD$500 is required to confirm the Lucky of Love or Eat, Drink and be Married Wedding Package. This deposit can then be applied toward ceremony and/or reception upgrades which have been purchased in addition to the wedding package. If the wedding couple chooses not to purchase additional ceremony and/or reception amenities, the credit can then be applied toward any room charges upon check out, including but not limited to phone charges, spa treatments and logo shop purchases. Any remaining credit balance will be refunded in the form of the original payment.

Cancellation Policy

The wedding can be canceled six or more months prior to the confirmed date without penalties. If the wedding is canceled within six months, the non-refundable deposit will be kept as a penalty.

Policy on Damages and Losses

The property does not assume responsibility for any items, personal or professional, brought onto the resort prior to, during or after the wedding event. These include, but are not limited to, floral arrangements, decorations or equipment. The wedding couple is responsible for all non-resort guests while they are on property attending the event.


L E G A L R E Q U I R E M E N T S

In order to get legally married at Breathless Montego Bay, there are a few requirements you will need. Even though by law the couple only needs to arrive 24 hours in advance (not including arrival day), we would advise you come a mini-mum of 3 days in advance. Please speak to the wedding coordinator to discuss requirements. The ceremony should be performed by a marriage officer recognized by the Jamaican government and the following original documents are required to be sent via courier to the wedding coordinator at least 8 weeks prior to the couple’s arrival:

• Proof of citizenship – certified copy of birth certificate, which includes father’s name.• Notarized copies of Bride & Groom’s official ID (Passports).• Proof of divorce if applicable (original certificate of divorce).• Notarized copy of death certificate for widow or widower.• Occupation of both candidates.• Parent’s written consent if under 18 years of age.• Italian nationals celebrating their wedding in Jamaica must notify their embassy and have a certified copy of their mar-riage certificate forwarded to their embassy to be legalized and translated.• French Canadians need a notarized translated copy of all documents and a photocopy of the original French docu-ments. None of the above mentioned services are included in our Wedding Packages.• All documents not originally in English need a notarized translated copy and a photocopy of the original document.• After ceremony, the couple will receive a copy of the Marriage Register that the Officer will take to the Registrar General in Montego Bay in order to obtain your Official Certificate. This process takes approximately 3 months and we will mail the documents to you as soon as we receive it from the Registrar’s Office.• Secrets Resorts & Spas are not responsible for those documents sent via Postal or Currier Services and not received by the Wedding Coordinator.• We are unable to retrieve those documents not sent directly to the hotel, please note that the wedding coordinator or any other employee of the hotel is not able to leave the property to retrieve documents• After signing the Marriage Registrar forms, the Minister sends the documents signed by the couple to the Registrar Gen-eral Department (Government Agency that processes marriage certificates); on average the processing of the paperwork takes approximately 3 months, please note that Secrets Resorts & Spa is not responsible for any delay in the processing of the marriage certificates.

Symbolic Ceremonies: In Jamaica, symbolic ceremonies are considered a non-legal option. Due to Government law, wed-ding couples MUST be legally married in their country prior to having a symbolic ceremony inJamaica. The bride and groom must present their wedding certificate as proof of marriage for a symbolic ceremony.
