Highclere Castle is a romantic wedding venue

where dreams can be turned into reality.Designed and built by Sir Charles Barry, the

architect of the Houses of Parliament, it is oftendescribed as the finest occupied Victorian mansion inEngland.

The Castle has been the seatof the Earls of Carnarvon

for over 300 years. While rich in treasures and steepedin history dating back to the English Civil War,Highclere retains the warmth and welcome of a familyhome.

One thousand acres of landscaped 18th centuryParkland, designed by Capability Brown, combinewith the Castle to create an un-rivalled atmosphere inwhich you and your guests can enjoy excellent cuisine,finewines andfriendlyprofessional service.

Drinks Reception

Your drinks and canap reception can be held after theWedding Ceremony in the splendour of the CastlesDrawing Room and Smoking Room.

The Castles south and east lawns provide a beautifulsetting for your drinks reception with access from theSmoking Room. There are many photograph opportunities

to be found in the Castles extensive Gardens and Grounds.

You may wish your guests to enjoya guided tour of the 5th EarlsEgyptian Antiquities Exhibition inthe Castle Cellars during the

Reception.

Wedding Banqueting

Highclere Castle takes pride in its first class in-house

banqueting team. The choice of menus reflects the fine

dining traditions of the Carnarvon family and dynamiccreations from the Castles Executive Chef.

The magnificent Library can seat up to 140 guests which can be

extended to 170 with the adjacent Music Room. For smaller

occasions, the Music Room can seat up to 40 guests and the StateDining Room upto 50 guests.

The Castle can also work

with outside caterers for speciality cuisine such as Asian or Kosher.

Marquee Weddings

Marquees for up to 400 guests can beattached to the Castle with viewsacross the Parkland and follies.The adjacent main State Rooms of the Castlecan be enjoyed for reception drinks and

photographs.

Marquees of any size can be located onCastle Piece, which is an area of Parklandjust in front of the Castle.

Evening DancingDancing to a band or disco can take place in the Saloon after dinner. TheCastle can provide a fully licenced bar in the Saloon for drinks during theevening. The Oak Staircase is the perfect setting for the cutting of the

Wedding Cake before you take to the floor for the first dance.

During dancing, the adjacent State Dining Room can offer quieter spacefor your guests to relax during the evening. For smaller celebrations, there

is an option of dancing in either the North Library or the Music Room.
